Uncle Colin

Now that we know Collin Powell's true beliefs and values, there can be only one explanation for the years of devotion and allegiance he gave to Republican administrations.

Uncle Tom - a pejorative for a black person who is perceived by others as behaving in a subservient manner to White American authority figures, or as seeking ingratiation with them by way of unnecessary accommodation.

Ooooh....got it! :/

You know, that word has been bandied about so much lately, it's starting to lose it's impact...unless of course, you AREN'T voting for THE ONE. sigh...

I think this is more of a matter of the Republican party feeling like they've been betrayed than a matter of Powell's reasons for voting for Obama. Lots of republicans have publically stated they'll be voting for Obama, but it's gotta sting coming from a high ranking republican.

Is it racism on the part of Colin Powell? Or Is it cognative dissonance from the republican party, trying to justify why Colin does want to support the current leaders of the republican party?

Only one person knows, that is Powell and I don't think anything he can say on the matter will hush any critisms throw his way. What I will say is as a citizen he has the right to vote however he wishes and it is not our business how he casts his ballot or why.

Then he shouldn't have said anything at all if it is not any of our business, no?

No, Anonymous, when a man makes a public statement about who he supports and who will get his vote, he has made it everybody's business.

However he chooses to vote his is right, period. Name calling just makes you look petty.GET OVER IT.

Vote for who want to vote for. Tell people why you're voting for them even say why you are not voting for the other guy (just be informed, with the facts, in other words do due diligence) But don't name call or wildly speculate on things that can not be proven or disproven. Nothing good comes from that.

You have the freedom to your opinion and I respect that, you in turn should respect others right to their opinions however much you disagree with them.
