Comment: Senator, Are You Smarter Than a Kindergartener?

In DK-land, Keith Olbermann continues to riff on the tired left-wing meme that Sarah Palin, Republican VP candidate and the Democrats' worst nightmare, is simple-minded. Of course, nothing could be further from the truth. Hence this typical liberal elitist riposte, usually pulled out of their bag of worn-out tricks when nothing else has worked against a formidable conservative adversary.

In this case, Olbermann's title (Comment: Governor, Are You Smarter Than A Third Grader?") is particularly apropos because his "attack", if I may so glorify it, reminds me of a third grader (at best). As in, "nahh, nahh, [fill in name of Republican] is stupid." Ooohh, that smarts!

So that a good time might be had by all, we at DAK are more than happy to respond in kind. Let's consider who would be the Vice President if "the One" were to be elected, come November 4. Hmmm, yes, that would be . . . Senator Joe Biden. I almost forgot his name because Senator Government's had him under wraps after the latest in a lifetime series of gaffes.

There are so many of these bon mots, so let's look at the one that's most salient, that indicates Biden's own current mental grade-level:

My daughter, a first grader, can count how many letters are in a word, but "Joe the Senator" apparently cannot. This would make him, by default, a Kindergartener.

Biden a "Master of the Senate" -- hardly. By alluding to this well-known scholarly work about LBJ, Olbermann by inference puts down Palin. However, one can say with confidence to both Palin and Biden, "You are no LBJ." Palin, because her adherence to bedrock conservative principles places her an ideological light-year away from the President who brought us the most wasteful and ill-run social entitlement programs since FDR. Biden, because his speaking ability and general intellect cannot hold a candle to LBJ's. Or Sarah Palin's.
