John McCain has till next Friday to get this average down to 3 pts. If he does that, he'll have a good chance of winning. The state polling is all over the map and you can make a case for McCain winning just about every swing-state if he can cut Obama's national lead in half. We shall see.
Rasmussen Reports Obama 52, McCain 45 Obama +7
Gallup (Traditional)* Obama 50, McCain 45 Obama +5
Hotline/FD Obama 50, McCain 43 Obama +7
GWU/Battleground Obama 49, McCain 46 Obama +3
IBD/TIPP Obama 46, McCain 42 Obama +4

I've been finding this battlegrounds state poll interesting. A national poll can be skewed quite a bit by where it's taken, say California, NY, Illinois, etc. But the battleground states are the only ones that really matter.
