Progress in SCOTUS' Consideration of Obama Citizenship Question

I'm passing on this update on the Supreme Court's processing of one of the now-multiple lawsuits that call into question the legitimacy of Obama's candidacy for President, based on Article 2, Section 1, Clause 5 of the Constitution.

From Red County blogger Rus Thompson:

On December 5, 2008, only ten days before the electoral college votes, the nine Justices of the U.S. Supreme Court will meet in private to review Obama's citizenship status.

Leo Donofrio's case, "Leo C. Donofrio, v. Nina Mitchell Wells, Secretary of State of the State of New Jersey, United States Supreme Court Docket No. 08A407," regarding Obama's citizenship has reached a new level. The case has been "distributed for conference."

This docketing today by the court should send ripples of fear through the Obama camp. Obama has been proceeding at lightening speed to put together a cabinet and take possession of the White House with the hope that he won't have to answer the question of whether or not he was "at birth" a "natural born citizen."

Thompson points out that the MSM has completely ignored the Obama citizenship lawsuits, calling them the work of "sore losers or conspiracy theories". However, "If four of the nine Justices vote to hear the case in full review, oral argument may be ordered."

Thompson's report is consistent with the SCOTUS online docket.

Amazing!

Obama was born in Hawaii, an actual state in the United States of America.

McCain was born in PANAMA, a corrupt, central American country.

And you guys called the Democrats sore losers in 2000!

I must not have read your post very well Dezoars, I didn't see where you backed up your claim of Obama's citizenship. But then why should you be any different than Obama, right?

The state of Hawaii has released Obama's original birth certificate, Chuck. There isn't a single shred of evidence to indicate that Obama isn't a citizen. This has been well covered in the mainstream press. I've read the stuff on the blogs that say otherwise, and they can produce nothing to back up their claims. It's simply nonsense, and a pretty clear indication how out of touch with reality these kinds of claims are.

Quite frankly I don't really have an opinion on Obama's birth certificate. If I were forced to make a choice, I would say he is mostly likely a US citizen. Hawaii did not release the certificate, my understanding is that they released a picture of one.

As far as it being covered well in the mainstream press, this undoubtedly the most rediculous statement here so far. It shows were you are coming from and takes away any crediblity you may have when you make a statement like This has been well covered in the mainstream press. Nothing that could reflect negatively on Obama was covered even remotely in the MSM, well or otherwise.

Hawaii never released a certificate, nor a picture of one. Hawaii (specifically, a doctor who runs the Dept of Health Vital Records) released a statement that there is a certificate on file (didn't say what's on it; didn't actually claim to have personally seen it).

If you phone Hawaii Vital Records, you will be told (falsely) that the law does not permit you to order a certified copy unless you are "blood related." In fact, Hawaii law says you must have a "direct tangible interest in the record" and one example is having a common ancestor, but there are other examples, and that in cases of doubt, release should be favored. In other words, somebody lied to the Hawaii Health staff about the law.

The Daily Kos put up a .jpg that came from who knows where, and somebody in the Obama campaign copied it and lowered the resolution.

There was one article in the Daily Globe. That's how the MSM covers it.
