I think we all remember a time in our childhood when we were playing ball with friends. Invariably, an argument would ensue about who got who out of the game or some other infraction of the rules. This eventually resulted in the old cliché, “That’s it! I’m taking my ball and going home!” The boy with the ball leaves and the rest of the friends are left trying to figure out what to do next. Of course, while doing so, everyone was more than happy to participate in criticizing the friend that went home with the ball as being spoiled, conceited, or arrogant.

This little life lesson is in general terms a reality of our free market economy. The “Rich” have the ball and if they think the game is treating them unfair, no matter how much you might think they are being arrogant or unfair themselves, they can take their “ball” and leave. Today, we are suffering from many “balls” like credit being taken home and not being use to help play the game of economics. Obama is like the ring leader in the friendly game, using his power of persuasion to instigate the argument in the first place, then fomenting the loathing towards the ball’s owner.

But is this role what we should expect our President to assume? I watched the Rush Limbaugh speech at the CPAC meeting this weekend. Say what you want about Rush, love or hate him, the speech itself was one of the more inspirational talks about the wonder and greatness of America. It also touched on the magnitude of fortune we here in America enjoy for the fruits of our labor. You finished it and felt good about who you are and what you could do to help others get there.

Obummer, on the other hand, has spent the last couple months of his election and service as president to surgically remove all hope from the psyche of the American people with a chainsaw. His “honesty in reporting” is disingenuous in that his philosophical background stems from a culture of victimhood and radical hatred of all things American. His education in the ways of obtaining liberal power brokerage requires the divisiveness of the American people, class warfare, and the establishment of ongoing catastrophe that can only be resolved with more government control.

The Obummer team wants a controlled crisis that can be used to bring “reforms” and “change”, however, sometimes, things like the market don’t cooperate and you have to adapt to the situation. Obummer had to be reminded of this by none other than Bill Clinton before Obummer’s Not The State of the Union speech. Sounding more like Reagan than Roosevelt, Obummer tried to put a positive spin on their plans. But no matter what a person says, it is their actions that speak louder than words.

And Obummer’s actions are the real problem. In the process of irritating the Russians, the British, the eastern Bloc of the EU and the Israelis just to start with, his policies against economic production and the creation of wealth will saddle us with a nightmarish horror story from which we will wish we could awaken. Unfortunately, we are all running through the halls of a dreamscape asylum hoping that Freddie isn’t around the next corner. Obummer has used the liberal Weapon of Mass Destruction, Class Warfare, to create hatred for those with the game ball. He does not understand the disastrous ramifications for his attack against the “Rich”.

Mayor Bloomberg made the point quite clear when he explained that out of the 8.5 to 9 million residence of New York City, 40,000 of them constitute the vast majority of revenue collected by the city. If these Nefarious Ne’er-do-wells of class tyranny decide not to pay their “fair tax burden” by leaving the city, then the mayor and New York face imminent fiscal collapse. A prime example of this is demonstrated by the class warfare battle over bonuses for the Widecats of Wall Street. Granted, it does not seem to make fiscal sense to give huge bonuses when a company is underperforming, but it’s exactly these bonuses that have become essential to New York’s prosperity. The City reported that the tax revenue in previous years from those bonuses amounted to $2 Billion in income. But recently, these bonuses have dropped precipitously and the city of New York is facing a $1 - $2 Billion shortfall. So what’s their answer for resolving this issue? Laying off roughly 23,000 city workers.

The Left loves to criticize the trickle-down effect, but once the snowball starts to roll, it’s an avalanche by the time it hits the middle to lower middle class. The question though, is the snowball fluffy and clean, or yellow. Obummer wants to remove tax credits for charitable giving. Excuse me but why do you think every building on college campuses and museums have someone’s name on it? That’s right! They received a charitable gift from those crass and mean-spirited Rich. What about The Gates Foundation that has spent a $1 billion on education and children’s health issues, or the Getty endowment for the Arts. The Rich give at astronomically higher levels than the average person on the street BECAUSE they are looking for a tax break. You change the rules of the game and they are going to go home with the “charitable” game ball. Watch what happens to the poor in this country when the NGO’s and religious based relief organizations no long have access to charitable giving. Not to mention the Cap and Trade plan on emission that will directly tax the middle class.

Complain all you want about the unfair advantage of the Rich, but ask yourself when you get up in the morning. “How many jobs did I create today?” None?!? Well ask yourself what risks have you taken to better yourself and your financial situation? None?!? How about hardships like bankruptcy and foreclosure, drowning in credit card debt, divorce and starvation. Are you willing to accept these consequences to become rich? No?!? Are you willing to work 100+ hour weeks? No?!? Are you willing to leverage your entire life savings to pursue a dream? No?!? Then you have no right to complain.

The Obummer malaise is taking hold on the psychosis of the market and driving it into an abyss. There’s no one left to blame. The market is reacting to his guidance, sorry dear-in-the-headlights waffling, provided by his dream team of whiners and junior league tax cheats. Talk about a depressing message. We are heading for a depression, not strictly because it is the outcome of the financial crash, but because there is no overall inspiration driving force that can affect the psychology of the American People and give “Hope” for a better “change” in our lives. Reagan understood this in a similar financial crisis, which resulted in an unparalleled period of economic growth lasting 26 years. Obummer on the other hand, preaches that the Age of Reagan is over. Don’t look now but I think I hear a razor-bladed hand scratching the wall behind us.

Ten things that Christian Conservatives and Ron Paul Libertarians Can Agree On!

Help me out folks. I have discovered the following three political realities:

1. There are a ton of Christian Conservatives who are no longer happy with the Republican Party and are not actively participating.

2. There are a ton of Libertarian Conservatives who are no longer happy with the Republican Party and not actively participating.

3. In the meantime, Democrats are registering more Democrats and taking our country faster and faster toward Socialism.

My question is simple. Christians and Libertarians have far more in common than they either group has with the current Democrat Party.

Can all of you brainstorm with me to come up with 10 practical objectives that Christian Conservatives and Ron Paul type Libertarians can agree on?

I'll start.

#1 - Eliminate the I.R.S. by implementing a flat-tax, national sales tax, fair-tax, etc.

I AM A COWARD!

Yes I am a Coward. Or at least I am as defined by Eric Holder. I personally see no reason to discuss race in my daily life as it has no real bearing on what I do day to day. I have friends of all persuasions, including race, religion and sexual orientation, and my opinions of them as a person has nothing to do with their outward skin color.

The same can be said for my daughter. She is in third grade. Though she happens to be Chinese, as she was adopted from there, she is most undoubtedly American. But she has had to suffer personal attacks lately from the boys in her class. You see she has the physical Asian trait of height, or lack there of. So they call her ‘short stuff’, ‘shorty’, or ‘shorty pants.’ Even though she doesn’t like it, as adults we can see this for what it is; the typical games of young children in the initial throws of elementary school courting. In other words, the boys like her. What should be noted about this story is that the boys in question are Black and Hispanic. Race is irrelevant to the situation. The lesson learned in this observation of childhood attics is the omission of color as a basis for opinion about people. They have the innocence of youth, and as such, have not formed or been influences by the issues of race.

Imagine if these children could hold on to that innocence throughout life. Some people have argued that we should not teach (talk about as Holder would say) children about the racial atrocities of the past so that they do not develop impressions and stereotypes from that influence. Looking at my daughter’s class, there is something to be said for that. If these kids could grow up without the daily bombardment of government mandated thought and segregation by way of classifications, the blitzkrieg of sensationalized media stories trying to build ratings, or the historical opinions of the older generations from their parents on up, we might be able to actually break the cycle of racial conflict. Obviously, this is not possible, but it show where we could start.

Holder is missing the point. It is not that we need to talk about race, it’s how. Today, the authoritarian stormtroopers of political correctness have created a society of wimps. Whites are in fear of saying anything that can be construed as racially insensitive, in that they are immediately labeled a racist and sent to training camps on multiculturalism. Or worse, jail. Holder and his ilk are the reason WHY there is no conversation. It’s too dangerous. But if we really wanted to have those conversations, then the whole body of preconceived notions and racial stereotypes have to be on the table in a free and open roundtable, devoid of retribution.

Since Political Correctness makes that impossible, we are left with NOT talking. But that can be a good thing depending on how we do that. Look at government forms or applications. What if the Race field was removed or replaced with a single category, Human. What if we stopped talking about Hate crimes and started talking about Crimes. Murder is hate by definition regardless of black on white, white on black, or within our same race. What if we stopped promoting racial division in the media for the sake of the almighty dollar and what if everyone took a moment to unwind their internal racial sensitivity alarms, so that comments could be taking at face value before an army of incensed bureaucrats descended on the scene for political gain.

The comedian Chris Rock had a comment in one of his spoken songs I think we could all live up to. “If you go to a movie and someone steps on your foot, LET IT SLIDE. Why spend the next 20 years in jail, because someone smudged your Puma”. Mr. Holder, with his increased commitment to politically driven enforcement, is creating even greater division and mistrusted. If each race could take the time to look each other in the eye, shake hands and LET IT SLIDE, the destructive sectarian conversations from the likes of Holder would be moot.

American Liberals Want to Confiscate Wealth

It is with regular occurrence, think tanks, like the Brookings and the Urban Institute, produce charts, graphs and policy statements demonstrating the decay of the American educational system. Though I usually agree with the findings portrayed, the state of the educational system is not the theme of this blog. It is the outcome.

For privacy reasons, I will say that a friend of mine attends a well known university in my area and is currently enrolled in a liberal arts disciple. One that caters to a more liberal-minded cliental. During a particular class, certain discussions have come up and the dialog of the attendees has come to my knowledge. It is without a doubt some of the scariest banter I have heard from young adults looking to be the next leaders of our world. All that I can say is, yes our educational system is broken. There is no chance that these students attended, much less passed a high school history, government or economics class.

Suffice it to say that the students are in their mid twenties, as this is a graduate class, and are liberal in ideology. Even worse, the professor, the guiding hand in the subject matter is by far the most appalling. The class itself deals with poverty, its causes and how might government be used to remedy the “injustice.” In listening to the comments of the class, it was the very first topic that nearly sent me sailing out of my chair, dropping my plate and spewing a soda from my mouth. According to the professor, and the agreement of the class, it is the role of government to bring equality to all people through the use of socialistic political principles and a communistic establishment of common income across all job categories and skill levels.

Yes, I know, calm down. It only gets worse. The problem with this approach, as described by the class, is that establishing a single income will bring equality to all, but it neglects to remedy the unfortunate situation of Wealth. You see, a horrible injustice has occurred due to free market capitalistic programs. People have actually been “allowed” to save, invest, or inherit money. This, you see, has allowed people to “earn” money without work through dividends and interest. It is this Wealth that must be corrected. To that end, it is the role of government to confiscate personal wealth and property, redistributing it for the good of all. As you pick you jaw up from the floor, you have to ask, “How did these seemingly educated people ever learn this from our education system?” You really have to wonder how a class on the revolution and the founding fathers led those people to these conclusions.

Yet, it is the opinion of the professor and the class that government has failed in its central mission, its primary purpose for establishment, that government must be the arbiter of equality and fairness. As convoluted as that logic is, they expand on this idea by discussing the disgraceful history of America and our abandonment of the founding principles for which this country was created. I don’t know about you, but I must have slept through that part of American History. Of course the founding of the Republican party is primarily to blame for our current situation, but it is the “spawns from hell” known as Libertarians that riles the attendees into a frothy blather of fascism. How dare someone actually believe in the “individual.” Accordingly, we are to learn from this seminar that uniformity of belief and adherence to a common humanistic goal of selflessness, in support of the people, is true enlightenment.

One of my favorite comments deals with poverty. I have been schooled by this professor and come to learn that America has more people in poverty than any other country in the world, including China. Wow, who would have every guested that our entire population is below the poverty line. I suppose those evil rich people don’t actually exist. What really astonishes this class is that people actually believe this statistic to be false. I guess they learned math from the same professor as Nancy Pelosi.

As idiotic as these comments are, it is one in particular that makes me ferociously angry. It seems that immigration is a right, but even so, why would people want to come to America? Supposedly, we Americans have been lying to the world. We have misguided untold numbers of poor and disenfranchised people, leading them to believe America is the home of the brave and the free, a place of opportunity, and more importantly, of Hope. Unfortunately, the reality is there is no Hope. It is a pipe dream, a method of control by the wealthy elite to indoctrinate the immigrant into a life of servitude, for the benefit of the rich. Thank God, (oops sorry, can’t say that. Obviously there is no God) Thank the Reasoned attending that class, who have come to understand the reality of the world and will work to end wealth, money, and opportunity in the name of equality for all.

Their belief is strong, their desire is set and their Messiah is in office. “He will change the world, He will correct the abomination on the Bush presidency, He will bring a socialist eden to our shores, He will make the government work the way it was intended.” I think it is time to be very afraid for our future.

Epic Fail! Government Run Business

Short sighted vision in business usually results in the death of the company. But in government it gets you elected to office for the foreseeable future. Mix the two and you have a receipt for disaster. Well, welcome to our world today. Since the delivery of billions in bailout money to the financial and business world, we the people feel we should have a say in what is going on with that money. As a stockholder of that company, yes that makes sense, but when our interest is represented by the bureaucrat, fraud, waste and abuse are sure to be the results of our underwriting.

Lets start by looking at some major service programs government provides to the people, its customers.

Medicare - yes people do get health care albeit not without delay, massive red tape, and a level of fraud that would make any mafia boss cry with pride.
Social Security - there is a reason it is referred to as social insecurity. It is on the verge of bankruptcy and our progeny most likely will not receive any benefit for their fiscal support of the program.
Welfare - beside the fact that the welfare state has destroyed the nuclear family and relegated almost an entire population of minority citizens to government subsistence, it has been yet again another example of massive fraud. Not to mention that welfare was to end poverty as we know it. We have spent more than a $9 Trillion since its inception and poverty still runs rampant.
Education - in the last 10 years, the education budget has increased almost 300% over the previous 2 decades combined. This has resulted in little to no improvement in America’s level of education position compared to other democracies of the world. You have to ask what are we getting for our money?

Example after example exist that shows government is incapable of productive business functions. But yet we are more than happy for them to interfere repeatedly, on our behalf, in the day to day workings of our new investments. However, the short sighted sound bite of electability portrays to the mind of the naive, that big business is bad and the actions of their management are “shameful”. Two examples have flared in the press lately, accompanied by the indignation of our meaningful representatives.

The first is the case of the new private plane purchase by Citigroup. For those of us that do not get the pleasure of flying in a private plane, we are inclined to think of this luxury as frivolous. But, private planes are the staple of big business and has been shown repeatedly that it is a worthwhile investment for the transportation needs of upper management. When it can cost a company more then $1,000 per hour to have a person sit at an airport instead of working, it adds up. Not to mention, the purchase of that plane employes people that build the plane. No plane, no employment. The argument is that the plane is French and has nothing to do with America. Except for the fact that final assembly and delivery of the planes occur in Little Rock, Arkansas. But the real story behind this political theater is that Citigroup was getting rid of two very costly older planes that have high maintenance expenses and wasteful fuel consumption that “harms the environment.” In exchange, Citigroup was to sell the two older planes, buy a new plane and decrease their overall costs of operation, thus saving us, the new investor money. But that story line does not meld with the socialist tendencies of our current administration.

The second is even worse, since it has a direct effect on many people’s lives. President Obama just yesterday called the distribution of billions in bonuses to Wall Street fat cats despicable. On the surface, this seems a fair comment since those companies are being horribly mismanaged and are a good portion of the reason we are in the financial hell we current endure. BUT! The people who receive these bonuses, and have received them for years, live, work and purchase in New York. If they do not have the bonuses, they do not continue their lifestyle. I know a lot of people think that is a good thing for them since they deserve it, but wait and look at the unintended consequences. Those bonuses are taxed and those tax dollars go to New York City to the tune of $1 to $2 Billion per year. New York has announced that they are more than $1 Billion short on tax revenue and the outcome will be the elimination of 20,000 jobs. Those bonuses and salaries of the ultra rich represent the vast majority of the collected taxes for the city. You take that away and the city goes broke. 20,000 jobs will just be the start as taxes are not collected on those incomes as well. As they say, when a snow ball starts rolling down hill...

Another adage says, “don’t judge a book by its cover.” Just because these and other actions on the part of big business seems reprehensible, there is a connected reality of cause and effect that impacts us all. We see that first hand when they fail to perform their fiduciary responsibility to the company. But we also see the benefit of jobs, personal advancement, money to invest, and money to purchase. The left is fond of saying trickle down economics don’t work. Well the bonuses of New York are a prime example of what happens when you dam the stream.

Let's see, Obama won 53% to 46%. Let's say a good 10pts of that are people who already regret the fact that they voted for him. That will soon put Obama's approval rate south of 50%. By taking the side of terrorists, killing babies abroad, and attempting to bankrupt America with a 1 trillion dollar welfare package, Obama is quickly splitting the country in half. Let him mess with talk radio, go after Americans' guns, and continue to discriminate against white people through "targeted" government spending, he'll be at 40% before the leaves start to turn this fall.

The political battle lines this week, are drawn along the jagged edge of the $825 billion Stimulus Package. The Democrats are wailing about our impending doom if it is not passed without question, while the Republican’s unsympathetic response harbors a professed confrontation typical of political theater. If there was ever a time for a conservative, principled stand against the mistakes of the left, it would be now. But if the American public believes there is a real discussion in Congress on a beneficial stimulus package for the economy, then I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.

You see, the stimulus package is pork. And not just your normal fare of swine, but a succulent and fattened collection of congressional earmark gluttony unseen since the New Deal. We are told that the plan has been painstakingly assembled with the best of intentions, providing an immediate beneficial impact on the fiscal suffering of the electorate. This could not be further from the truth.

Prior to the introduction of the Stimulus Package, a number of state governors and city mayors assembled within their separate political organizations to create a list of necessary projects for the plan. Luckily for the American people, the stimulus package is only $825 billion or programs like a Polar bear exhibit in Rhode Island and a mafia museum in Las Vegas might have been included as well. Even so, organizations like ACORN got their pet projects into the plan. The coffers are open and Speaker Pelosi has demonstrated her dictatorial control over the process to insure a New New Deal is squarely placed upon her rightful shoulders. Well, so be it.

As much as it would benefit the conservative right for Mrs. Pelosi to be saddled with the destruction of the American government as we know it, the disastrous effects of that decision on the American people is well beyond the risk that can be taken for political gain. So it is with great resolve that the right must fight this Obamanation of a plan and convince the American people of its fraudulent facility to liberate our economy.

Lets start by looking at some of the programs in the plan and how they might generate immediate benefits.

$32 Billion for a new “Green Electrical Grid” - Huge environmental impact studies, right -of-way authorizations, zoning rule changes, local and state government involvement, community group opposition lawsuits. Timeline: 30 years
$90 Billion for State medicaid payments - Covers existing and new members to the program, but does not benefit anyone except the doctors on the program that are already overly burden with patients. Means people have access to medical care but it doesn’t pay their mortgage.
$79 Billion in school program grants - At least our high school can keeps its Gymnastics program now since it was going to get cut in the county budget. But this effects my credit cards debts how?
$120 Billion for Infrastructure ( including transportation) - Anyone who has EVER contracted with the Federal Government knows it takes years for these programs to even start, much less employ people with paychecks. Look up The F.A.R. (Federal Acquisition Regulations). These can make even the most harden lawyer snivel in the corner of a room. This is why we have $600 hammers as well as why it takes 20 years to build a new fighter jet. But we are to believe that suddenly, all previous experience with the government will be thrown out the window and these projects can be done immediately. One note: during a congressional hearing last week, an Obama administration representative could not tell Congress how many people would be hired on account of these programs. Meaning: these programs are the dreams of congressional earmarks and have not even begun to be implemented. Timeline: 10 years.
$6 Billion for foreign countries that cannot afford a bailout - Do I really need to explain how this is beneficial to the American public [sarcasm].

And the list goes on. But at no time do the vast majority of the specified programs directly benefit the immediate improvement of our financial situations. Of course there are the tax incentives that have been included. Of the $275 Billion, about $140 Billion ( $500 per adult up to $1,000 per couple) will go directly to the people but only after you file your taxes and receive a check from the Treasury. This is mid-2009 at the earliest and is only for those that have a tax refund. Anyone else, well you know what they say about placing your head between your knees.

Personally, I see no direct benefit to anyone for the passage of this package. But, the question is can the expenditure be stopped? With the current makeup of the congressional delegation being democrat, that answer is no. Unfortunately I am not in the power seat like Speaker Pelosi, but if I was her and without a doubt, about to spend this money, I would propose a new plan that would bring immediate benefit to ALL Americans. The current Stimulus Package is $825 Billion and the remainder of the Financial bailout is $350 Billion. Combined this is roughly $1.2 Trillion. There is roughly 290 million Americans ( minus the 30 million or so illegals), so that works out to $4,138 per person. As a family of four, I believe I can put my $16,552 to work saving my house and the economy a lot faster than the government. Even if you reserve the money for transportation projects, every family in American still receives about $12,000. Sounds like a recovery plan to me.

PROOF: Obama is a Socialist!

The rumors have been rampant since the beginning of the 2008 election cycle, Barack Obama is a Socialist. Denials have also been as rampant and the sequestering of Barack's past became the full time employ of the media and their democratic cohorts. But no matter how much window dressing and firewalls are added to the Obama presidency, it is still clear that Obama harbors socialist tendencies. This is evidenced by his friends, business partners, political associations and most recently, by his cabinet appointments. The latest of which was the most glaring example of obviousness no whitewash could possibly hide.

Look at the chart to see the relationships.

Carol Browner, the next Climate Czar, had her named cleansed from the Socialist International's Commission for a Sustainable World Society website to hide her political affiliation with that said organization. Unfortunately, many politicians on both sides of the isle seem to forget that the web is archived. Just because information was pulled down today, does not mean a digital copy of that information was not archived for "posterity." More like criminal evidence. Mrs. Browner has long been a supporter of socialist principles and her relationship to other political figures and Obama shows an ever growing presence of socialistic philosophy at the top of the American political management. But the links to socialism and communism don't begin and end with her. There are a number of cabinet level positions left to be filled, and we, as stewards of the country's founding principles must take great care to watch and report, to question and complain, and to intrude on the selection process so as to prevent this growing disease of the left upon our freedom. However, for Mrs, Browner, Obama quite creatively appointed her to a position without the need of a senatorial review.

In 1959, Nikita Khrushchev, leader of the Soviet Union had this interchange with the Secretary of Agriculture, Erza Benson;

"Your children will live under communism." Khrushchev said.

"On the contrary," Secretary Benson replied, "My grandchildren will live in freedom as I hope that all people will."

Khrushchev then retorted: "You Americans are so gullible. No, you won't accept Communism outright; but we'll keep feeding you small doses of Socialism until you will finally wake up and find that you already have Communism. We won't have to fight you; we'll so weaken your economy, until you fall like overripe fruit into our hands."

The Soviet plan was to infiltrate the education system, changing the minds of the young and preparing the future for acceptance of socialism. Needless to say, as we look at the first post 60's generation president, having been educated in the leftist ideals of Karl Marx, the communist seem to have gotten their way.

Nancy Pelosi Breaks the "Power Hungry" Glass Ceiling!

A new congress in the USA means new house rules. In the spirit of "Change" Nancy Pelosi is using the 111th Congress to drag this country back to the despotic rules of the democrat majorities of old.

On his 1/6/09 radio show, Rush Limbaugh puts it all into perspective. "House Speaker Nancy Pelosi plans to rewrite House rules today to ensure that the Republican minority is unable to have any influence on legislation... "Pelosi's rule changes -- which may be voted on today -- will reverse the fairness rules that were written around Newt Gingrich's 'Contract with America.'" If she gets her way, Republicans will not be able to offer alternative bills. Republicans will not be able to offer amendments to Democrat bills. They will not even be offered the guarantee of open debate accessible by motions to recommit for any piece of legislation during the entire 111th Congress. Nancy Pelosi is effectively going to shut 'em out. "

Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, is using her gavel power to rewrite the House of Representatives rules, so she can "shut out" republicans in the new Congress.

In other words, Speaker Nancy Pelosi is using her gavel to silence opposition.

Will we see any rose colored glasses come off now that we are finally getting a glimpse of what the mysterious "change" really means, and what it really costs?

(And for the record, "Change" is not a pretty package with mysterious prizes inside!)

Pelosi's rule changes reveal to us that silencing the opposition is one of the preliminary acts necessary for the "change" to be imposed on the Citizens of the United States of America!!

Pelosi's sparkling clean House of Representatives was supposed to be ethical, transparent, bipartisan, accountable... etc.. by now. (Pelosi was supposed to clean the House of Representatives up and do all that by now right????) How can the House of Representatives be clean, ethical, bipartisan, transparent, accountable...etc..when republicans will be completely "shut out" and silenced. No laws, no amendments, no offering alternatives. No debate?

As discussed above, this is nothing new! For forty years democrats did this to republicans. Then when republicans gained control of the House they came in and rewrote the rules so that the minority can have standing in the debate.

Yes, it was the republican majority who led the rewriting of the old template of male dominated, selfish, power hungry, democrat agenda only rule, and allowed all the Citizens of the USA to be represented in Their Congress!

(You know, all Citizens? Including the Citizens who are represented by those who would normally have their representation "shut out" under the old democrat rules?)

Wonderful that this was done! Republicans should still be proud!

But forget about all that now! Queen Nancy is in power! And she is certain that her Royal duty is to make sure "Change" happens! Whatever the cost (to us Citizens)!

Nancy Pelosi is determined to flex her muscles to break that ultimate female glass ceiling, by turning the clock back to the old democrat rules.

I guess this means Pelosi can finally say Men and Women are truly equal now, huh? Wow, Nancy Pelosi will be remembered historically as proving that men and women can be equally selfish, oppressive and power hungry in the government.

Pelosi & the left want to shut up any opposition to the goals & agenda of the left in the USA. No republican and no conservative, elected or not elected, should stand for that! Republicans should be united in rejecting this, very openly, every single day! It shouldn't be dropped. It should be brought up over and over, in every press conference, in every letter sent, and should not be let up on. Not for any reason.

All republicans need to be heard! Not only some RINOs the democrats pick. ALL republicans need to be heard.

Republicans need to tell the Citizens of America their ideas for laws, amendments, alternatives, and debate no matter what!

Everyone needs to know that Pelosi and the left want to shut up all opposition in the government. And they want to shut up opposition on radio, the media, and the Internet too! Shutting up the republicans in the government is the first step to in shutting up all opposition. This is how they want to make the "change" happen, without opposition, anywhere.

It is grotesque what is happening in our government today. We hear words like change, hope, accountability, bipartisan... etc.. and they are empty, meaningless words. They mean nothing! They are just cold hearted deceptions that cover up that the left is out to destroy the USA as we know it. They are empty, meaningless, filler words meant to keep the People oblivious and quiet so the left can impose their agenda on the People without opposition.

Change, hope, accountability, bipartisan...etc.. are just words they pull out of a closet to dress themselves up in public. But behind closed doors they put them back in the closet for cold storage, until their next public show.

I thought Pelosi said she was going to be all about the Children. Remember all those kids brought into the "House" to pose in front of the cameras with Nancy Pelosi?

Yep, it was supposed to be all about the Children.

But now we see this isn't about the Children. This oppression and deception isn't great for the Children. None of this is even good for the Children. This leftist Media is awful for the Children. Killing our Consitution., creating this oppressive type of government, and imposing the socialist/communist financial and health system, is tying a millstone around the neck of all Children.

It is said that you are judged by the people you keep. Your friends say a lot about you, but so does a person’s judgement towards people chosen to be business associates. If this is the criteria, then President-Elect Obama is pretty close to stupid is as stupid does. We can get into the whole breadth of Chicago comrades he has kept, but that has been hashed over ad infinitum throughout the election. Today as President-elect, a job he will hold for at least four years and have direct governance over our lives, his cabinet and staff become even more important than the suspected influence of his past.

They also say, even a blind man can find something once in a while, so it should be credited that some of his picks for posts could have been worse. I guess that is our silver lining, albeit tarnished. But the recent issues involving Rahm “me know nothing” Emmanuel with the Blago fiasco, Bill “hand stuck in the cookie jar” Richardson and Tom “Wife, what wife?” Daschle just goes to show a selection process that is flawed, considering how many questions seem to have been ignored on the ethics questionnaire.

Today, however, Obama has stepped off the cliff without a parachute. The selection of Leon Panetta at CIA involves an intricate level of idiocy almost too difficult to describe. You know you are heading down the wrong path when, Obama as a democrat, can irritate Senator Feinstein. This decision is also a personal one for me, having worked in the past at CIA for almost 13 years. I worked within the Director’s staff and have seen two transitions of presidents, as well as a number of different CIA Director appointments. In each case the person selected for the job had detailed and long term experience with the inner workings of the intelligence community. Tenet may have been the least qualified of the ones I worked for, but even then he was a better candidate than Panetta. I remember people expressing concern with Tenet’s appointment, but that quickly subsided as he turned out to be quite adapt at the position.

The position of CIA Director requires extensive knowledge of how intelligence gathering systems work, individually and together. You must understand how the program managers, responsible for their portion of the intelligence gather process, work in concert to create homogenized intelligence material, the main purpose of which belongs to the CIA. But the appointment of Panetta disregards all historical precedent. This worries me, because we are still reeling from the the damage Bill Clinton did to the Human Intelligence collection capability. I personally fault Bill Clinton for 911 for many reasons I won’t go into. With Panetta, however, it appears that Obama may be heading down a similar road, where the intelligence material provided by the agency is discounted or at least diminished in importance. I know the argument that CIA has made mistakes. Well all government agency’s do, but CIA gets it right more often than they are wrong, they just can’t talk about it.

It hasn’t been announced yet, but Obama intents to appoint Dennis Blair as the National Intelligence Director. Previous to the establishment of the National Intelligence Director, the Director of CIA effectively had that position. Blair is a good candidate (wonder how he slipped through) but even he doesn’t have the detailed experience in the intelligence world of someone like James Woolsey. But with Blair at NID, it appears even more obvious that Obama wants his intelligence source closer to home and for CIA to be thrown to the edge of relevancy.

A Panetta appointment will certainly effect the operational process of the agency for years to come, exactly when we need it to be engaged in the overall intelligence picture. Technology intelligence sources are wonderful things and they are very capable, but without the ground truth from boots in the field, the human intelligence gathering spies at CIA, the other sources are worth no more than speculation. The industry has a term called “All-Source Intelligence”. Its there for a reason. You cannot get the big picture without each part being fully analyzed. Its obvious that Obama wants to pick and chose what fits his world view without being bothered by the details or facts.

For once in my life, I agree with Senator Feinstein. I hope she makes her point clear and Panetta can go back to worrying about the ocean and the Monterey Aquarium, both good endeavors but hardly qualifying of someone needed to deal with the world’s most serious issues.

Gas Tax Buffoonery

The wonderfully entertaining aspect of any government is the humor inherent in the illogical and non-sensical reasoning it uses to portray what it believes is good policy. Governments regularly decree guidance to us, the people, so that we can ‘learn the proper way in which we are to act for the betterment of everyone.’ Policies that deal with such ideas as the environment, social welfare, and healthcare all sound magnanimous in the beginning, but then you end up with a Clean Water Act that requires certain areas of the US to actually pollute the water just to reach the minimum standard, or OSHA requiring workers to wear life preservers while working on a bridge over a dry river bed in the desert. Its all very funny until you realize the brunt of the jokes are on your wallet.

We should always remember that government has grown with the availability of cash. It created the FED and eliminated the gold standard for easy access to fiat money, but where that is not politically expedient, there is always taxation. Once the government learns to live on the budget available (or create-able), it is next to impossible for it to decrease its spending. Remember, also, in government parlance, a decrease in the rate of INCREASE is a CUT in the budget.

So here again, we sit today with yet another fine example of government buffoonery. We hear incessantly about the need to conserve. Conserve our water, our electricity and our fuel. It is the latter that provides us our table at the next comedy sketch. You see, we use fuel, gasoline, oil, and are told that our consumption is injurious to the planet. That we should conserve, find other forms of bio-fuels and switch to electric cars. But it is never just that simple. So in 2008, people took heed of this government pronouncement of propriety and conserved. Of course $4 gasoline is a good motivator. Then the financial crisis struck and people were more than happy to control their expenses. The benefit of this is the price of gasoline has fallen dramatically, providing the American public with financial relief just when it was needed. It also has had a positive effect by limiting the authoritative control of OPEC nations over the much needed commodity and diminishing their power base.

So government has gotten the answer they desired, except for one small fact. The government relies on gasoline taxes that are paid when we purchase fuel for our cars. But when we don’t purchase fuel, this tax base is dwindled away and the politicians get nervous that their source of power might be removed. So what’s the answer they give? Punish us for not buying enough fuel by raising the taxes on gasoline as much as 50% a gallon.

“So, we did what you said and now you are going to penalize us by taxing our concerted effort to ‘help the environment.’ Well thank you so much. I elected you why again?”

But lets think this through, the government wants bio-fuel and electric cars. Auto makers are intently working on hydrogen fuel cells, even air powered cars. If a majority of people make these kind of switches, what do you think happens to gasoline consumption? So, in 1, 2, or 5 years are we going to see yet another series of tax hikes on fuel because we have noticeably turning green? As government continues to raise taxes on gasoline, like the $3 to $4 dollar tax hike proposed by members of the left in this country, people will look for alternatives. As the alternatives like bio fuels, assume the tax burden of oil, people will again look for an answer. And when there is not enough fuel consumption to provide a tax base for their spending addiction, where will they turn? Electricity and hydrogen.

Imagine your electric bill today. Mine is about $0.06 per KWhr. With an electric car needing roughly 33 KWhrs to refuel and provide 100 to 120 miles of driving, it cost me $2.38. Whereas the current fuel cost would be $13 with the new government tax on gasoline. Out of that amount the government would take $4.90. If they are not getting that cash from gasoline, you can bet they are going to get it from electricity. But how do they do that while allowing us to power our homes with electricity at the current rate? More than likely they won’t. Once the government gets the “taste” of electricity taxes, they will certainly find more reasons to spent that cash and for all of us to assume our ‘bound duty to our country’s environmental survivability.’

The government never seems to understand that increasing a tax only pushes that item out of reach for some portion of the populace, thus limiting consumption and the tax base. Continuing to raise taxes to make up the short fall, only decreases the amount of tax they could potential receive. And when that tax/price combination exceeds a market level of acceptance, then that product is replaced and the tax dies or must shift to a new source. The fact that gasoline may eventually die off ( or be taxed off) and be replaced by electricity as a source of taxation, should have each of us calling our representatives and explaining exactly how silly and non-sensical their current short term band-aids are for our well-being.

Tuesday the media had a field day showing off pictures of chest bare Barack Obama, frolicking in the Hawaiian waters right behind his 30 million dollar compound he “rented” for the holidays.

(Looks like the economy is bad and is going to get much worse for everyone except the Obama family and their friends!)

Drudge.com didn’t join in on the MSM /Obama love fest, but chose to display Obama’s picture above a similar bare chested picture of Vlad Putin. Then Drudge ran a poll. Poll title “Shirtless.”

I'd say the poll is asking 'Putin or Obama, who is more buff?' Or, even better, as Rush Limbaugh put it, it is the “Drudge's hunkiest authoritarian socialist poll.”

At this moment, Putin has doubled Obama in votes.

The Collapse of America As We Know It.

There comes a time in many people’s lives when they must face the reality of their financial situation with a humbled heart. They look at their personal balance sheet and fearfully recognize the state of their misery, Bankruptcy. That all too often situation in today’s world, when your expenses are greater than your income. Think for moment, and put yourself in their shoes. Your house is being foreclosed, there is little food in the refrigerator to feed your kids, you can’t pay the money to fix that broken car, your daughter is sick and now that you are laid off, your health insurance has ended unless you come up with the payment to keep it active. You are so racked with fear you can’t sleep or eat. People have committed suicide over less than this.

Your only option is the protection of the court and the compassion of friends and family that make the effort to ease your pain. You go to food kitchens, join the roles of welfare and apply for unemployment. Your pride is laid bare to the world. Now assume the situation is a worse case. Your house is sold and any equity is used to pay off debts, you sell all your family possessions, jewelry and keepsakes. Forget the kids going to college or the retirement fund, thats gone as well. You're essentially left with nothing, except the clothes on your back. But even at this low point in your life, there is someone or some entity there to help you. A church, a family services organization, at least something that can help you to make a new start.

But what if you are a company or organization. You don’t have the obligation of the family, or for that matter, any family at all immediate and extended. So what happens when a company gets to the same point in its existence? Well, one major point of difference between us and an organizational entity is a soul, a conscience, a basis for emotions or feelings. Without that, a company does not have the survival instinct inherent in the human pysche. If it falls to bankruptcy, its demise is just the normal order of business. It effectively ends, it dies. The assets of the company are sold off to others and the entity that was there is no longer.

Today we are considering the bailout of the big three auto makers. I say WE because its the American people that have to pay the money. We are that person being ask to help that neighbor. But before we can help its important to ask ourselves a very personal question, ‘do we have the financial wherewithal to provide help without ourselves becoming bankrupt?’ This is a question that the people of America need to sit down and consider deeply. The reason why is the fact that we as a Nation, are similarly disposed.

The Washington Times is reporting a story where the White House Budget Office has released a report on the financial health of US, and I mean us, not U.S. We collectively are the U.S. We exist as a hybrid entity. The government is a soulless construct save for the conscience afforded it be the hearts of it people. We can have a common desire and speak as one body, such is our want to do when there is a natural disaster . But the government itself is devoid of emotions and an extended family, a parental entity that cares for our continued existence. That my friends is something of which we should fear.

Why? Because American is bankrupt. The report shows that our debts are outpacing our income and with the current expenditure of the bailouts not being included in the current report, our situation is all the graver. The report said that our debt obligation is $56.4 trillion, while the collective net worth of the public is $56.5 trillion. When the bailouts are included, we have a negative balance sheet. We are broke. As the example at the beginning of this blog shows, we should be worried. We do not have time to consider the ramification of a Big 3 bailout/bankruptcy when we ourselves face and even more dire situation.

So what is to become of a country when it needs the protection of a bankruptcy court? Unfortunately, there is no established court to preside over the division of assets. Even more worrisome, the bankruptcy court for countries is usually at the point of a gun barrel. And not necessarily at the hands of its people, but by the creditors demanding their due. Having hundreds of thousands of people laid off because of the ineptitude of the Big 3 is nothing compared to the destruction at the hands of our government mismanagement. We as Americans need to decide what we do next. We are near that point where our shirt will be all we have left. The tipping point is about to be reached. We hear Change is coming to Washington, but for once, we need to seriously consider the change we get.

Democrats relish the opportunity to bash the Bush administration for the collapse of our economy. This argument is less than ingenuous. Our current situation started not long after America became an operational entity, but certainly has suffered the most going back to the Wilson administration and moving forward to today. We need to concentrate on the future and not the past. The past is done and cannot be changed. So remember this point; John Keynes, Karl Marx, Benito Mussolini, and Bernard Shaw's theories have been proven wrong. Ludwig Von Mises, Adam Smith and Thomas Jefferson have all foretold our predicament correctly. Maybe we should listen to what they have to say.

Doing nothing really seems to work for Barack Obama. He's already won the highest office in the land without ever having Done anything. And Now MSNBC is reporting that America Likes Obama "Doing Nothing" in his current role in the "office of the President-elect". According to the folks over at First Read who cited the lastest NBC/WSJ poll, "75% believe that the level of his involvement in making policy has been exactly right" Considering there is no such thing as his current office, he can't Do Anything.

President-elect Barack Obama is looking very presidential these days. When he makes an announcement, he is ringed by American flags and stands behind a lectern that has a very presidential-looking placard announcing "The Office of the President-Elect."

But the props are merely that. Under the Constitution, there is no such thing as the Office of the President-elect. Technically, Obama will not even become the president-elect until the Electoral College convenes after the second Wednesday in December and elects him based on the results of the Nov. 4 general election, as stated in the Constitution.

Therefore Obama can not legally 'involve himself in policy', so he's been Doing Nothing, and America thinks that is "Exactly Right".

Wonder what Obama's poll numbers will look like when he actually Has to Do something?I mean 25% of the country is already disatisfied with him and he hasn't even been sworn in yet. Nearly 80% of those polled believe Obama will face bigger challenges than other recent presidents, yet at least 52% of them voted for someone who has No experience that would help him handle these challenges. In fact 90% of those polled said the economy is worse now than it was 12 months ago. (I have no idea what is wrong with the other 10%) Yet, 52% of them voted for Obama knowing that Small and Large Businesses alike promised to downsize to avoid the onslaught of Obama's Tax Plan.

I thought it was interesting that 67% are "pleased with his early appointments". Since Republicans are pleased to see that Bill Ayers hasn't been appointed Sec. of Education yet, I'm guessing the 33% disaproval rating comes from the Left.

It was not all about the Challenges for PE Obama. They also found out that even with a sample that leaned left, Democrats only recieved a favorable rating of 49%, which is probably because 60% of them thought the Republicans controlled congress which has had an approval rating in the low teens for about a year.

One bright spot for the future of our Country, Sarah Palin's place as a rising star in the Republican party is confirmed where she has a favorability rating of 73% among those polled. Condi Rice polled the strongest for Republicans across all parties coming in with a 49% favorability. That's just 18 points behind The One and Dr. Rice has actually been Doing Something for our Country for the last 8 years. Just think what her numbers will look like after she Does Nothing for the next 4 years!

Democratic Censorship and Thought Police

Many people believe our government is a democracy where we all have a vote. Well, no. We have one vote, to elect those among us we believe represent our values best and have that person act in our stead upon the matters of government. In other words, a Republic. Others, however are not enamored with this political model and wish to pursue a pure democratic enterprise in America. For most of us, the concept of a pure democracy sounds appealing - “my vote might actually matter” - but the good qualities of the system are quickly hampered by its negatives. Winston Churchill once said, “The strongest argument against democracy is a five minute discussion with the average voter”.

We as American do not normally see the practices of pure democracy in action except for small forums like union meeting, committee meetings, public townhalls, and social media sites. Its the latter that has caught my attention as they have the ability to demonstrate the speed and power an organized bully pulpit can have on the censorship of free thought. Most of you reading this are more than likely familiar with the website Digg.com. It is by far one of the most popular social media site on the Internet. Yesterday, I submitted to Digg for discussion the following article;

There is NO Global Warming Crisis

Within a few hours, it had become the most commented article in the Environment section of Digg. It also rose to the top 10 Upcoming stories and made number four on the Hot Topics list for Science and the Environment. It was possibly poised to reach the front page of Digg, reserved for only the most collectively interesting stories. But as fast as it was moving up, it suddenly disappeared from any Digg list. Effectively, it was removed as if it had never existed. It had been Buried. Digg has two features available to the democratic masses that prevail its site; you can DIGG a story or BURY it. At some point in time, the algorithm of justice and fairness built into the site decides that enough people have chosen to Bury the story and that is exactly what happens. It is a form of collective censorship. If you don’t like something, get rid of it, bury it.

Now, as the author of the previous story, I cannot blame Digg. They are not trying to be a government nor are they required to be fair, they are a business and in business to make money. What they do try to do is improve the fairness through the front page algorithm. Where my previous story got caught was with a simple process of discounting collective voting blocks. This means if you group together in like minded fashion to form a collective interest group (a party lets say), your votes in quick succession on an article submitted by a member of the group is discounted as artificial popularity. Digg demands diversity in the votes to show that one particular group is not trying to promote a theme that really has limited appeal among the people. Quite a nobel attempt at countering a detrimental side effect of pure democracy.

However, the same is not true with Burying an article. Many blog posts have expressed concern with what is called “Bury Brigades”. A collective organization of people use the options in the choice to bury an article so that the algorithm is distorted to quickly censor information the group wishes hidden. The Digg algorithm is private so no one knows for sure the actual way it works, but the article from yesterday was obviously a casualty of this attack. What it points out is the power of Fascism to obscure the minds of the masses and allow the militaristic means of the controlling group to censor what would be considered an opposing view point. The article from yesterday was with out a doubt controversial. The comments alone showed the heated opinions on both sides. But in the end, a Bury Brigade had its will do.

What angers me so, is not a personal reason since I was the author, but the subject matter. It was an opposition piece to the idea of man made Global Warming. The proponents argue that the debate is over, that everyone agrees our climate problems are our fault. Well, that is obviously true when dissenting opinions are crushed and censored so that people can not be exposed to an alternate truth. As long as organizations like “Bury Brigades” can squelch the opposing commentary, topics like Global Warming will be lead by fascist regimes of like minded social media denizens, using their collective power to suppress open discussion in modern and traditional media. But having an authoritarian governmental organization (the IPCC) with substantial financial resources backing these pawns of the punditry, is truly terrifying for the future of free thought and our Republic.

There is NO Global Warming Crisis

I write this in frustration. I am amazed by the axiom “tell a lie long enough and it becomes the truth”. I am amazed by the extent to which human nature will venture in seeking a dollar. Global Warming has become the crisis de jour of the left, perfectly positioned to be used as the tool in Crisis Theory by the apostates of the Church of Climate Change. In conjunction with a political ruling class, bend on authoritarian dominance of world governments for the benefits of their largess, you have a volatile mixture set to explode socialism and communism throughout the democracies of our planet.

The main problem with the Global Warming argument is fairness in reporting. Any argument requires facts from the proponent and opponent, presented in heated debate, with the final victory decides in the mind of the observer. A one sided argument, does not an argument make. Unfortunately, that is exactly where we are today with the agents of importance using their bully pulpit to decide the direction of the discussion. Anyone in disagreement is summarily disposed.

I for one, can not do the opponent argument justice, others are exceptionally more qualified. Of course, those sources are usually buried under the torrent of proponent commentary, making the sourcing for such information difficult to discover. This is where this article can help with the listing of sources beneficial to anyone’s expanded education on the topic at hand.

But before we do that, let me express a couple thought about common sense. All of us watch politicians and observe the use of their power to benefit themselves. We know in our heart that an honest politician is difficult to come by. We know they tow the party line and the people be damned in their quest for extended power. When a politician is infused with the mindset of a communist or socialist, the endgame goal of control, wealth, power and authority supersedes any well being for the people. Welcome to the world of the United Nations.

Karl Marx wrote that democratic capitalist regimes could not change unless faced with a crisis, which in turn is used by the leftist to alter the perspective of the people. Saul Alinksy and his followers expanded on the idea with the Cloward-Piven Strategy, whereby a crisis is manufactured. And the dupes of all dupes, the Media, play their hand unbeknowningly in their quest for sensationalistic journalism. This leave us with a detrimental situation, where an activist organization(s) can delivery propaganda in the form of a news briefing, picked up by the media tingling with the excitement of reporting a catastrophe all with the hopes of expanded their ratings (source of power and wealth).

Unfortunately, that “organization” is the IPCC. Its power is paramount in the world of Global Warming dogma. Its priest and clerics preach from the televised soap box the word according to science, supposedly. It controls the sources and methods of its scriptures and excommunicates the fallen brethren who no longer follow the holy writs. And it does this with money. $32 Billion, and that is just the United States. Citigroup is promising another $50 Billion. The IPCC wants the total research dollars raised to $60 Billion a year from the world’s governments. The life blood on any research scientist is the sourcing of grants and other funds to conduct their experimentations. Without it, they starve or the collegiate enterprise in which they work suffers bankruptcy.

But scientists are not inherently an evil people, quite the contrary. However, the availability of funds from a source predicting the outcome of their studies before they are actually conducted leaves the scientist in a precarious position. If they find empirical evidence that the opposite is true and the funds will more then likely dry up, what do you do? If you present your findings and are resoundingly criticized to the extent you are blackballed from any further research grants, especially since you are paid behind the scenes by some “nefarious source”, what do you do? Survival is human nature and providing for your family is a tenet of survival. You know what they will do. An honest scientist will neuter the conclusion, making an innocuous statement that can be taken in any direction a determined politician wants, while at the same time providing the opposition the fodder for criticism, without exposing themselves to the suffrage of the argument. Those who seek power and fame however...

The good news is, eventually someone stands up, takes the slings and arrows of the ruling pundits, bleeds upon the alter like William Wallace and gives voice to the opposition. It emboldens the people (scientist) and allows the slow discovery of the alternate and sequestered data. Like a boulder rolling down hill, once it starts it picks up momentum. As of today, the Petition Project has gathered the signatures of 31,000 scientist (9,000 with Phd’s) to counter the accepted consensus argument that is expressed by the devote 2,500 scientists in the IPCC chapel. More and more scientists are speaking out, particularly the actual examiners of the IPCC studies, who testify to the deprived process of discovery within the halls of the Global Climate Change inner circle of bishops.

Its time to educate yourself. Its time to learn the truth of the opposing argument. Its time to stand up and present yourself before the acolytes trolling the social media sites of the internet, the coffee shops and cafes, the street corner bakery or anywhere else this “man-made” crisis has spread. BarbinMD thinks it is ok to kill babies. I am so tired of the libs trying to justify abortion by making the argument that it is less harmful to the mother. So they found this study.

Al Franken, the Democrat candidate for the Minnesota Senate seat that is still up in the air, just will not give up on trying to steal the election. Mark Elias, a Franken campaign lawyer, announced that election officials have "found" 12 "uncounted" ballots while "searching for 133 ballots gone missing during the hand recount in the urban center's 3rd ward, 1st precinct." These are ballots from uniformed and overseas voters that were "previously unopened and counted". The Franken campaign also said it would withdraw its challenges to 425 other ballots.

Franken claims that his campaign's internal count gives him a four-vote lead over Senator Norm Coleman, the Republican incumbent.

The Minnesota Secretary of State has issued an order that county election officials sort out absentee ballots into five categories. Franken's campaign is in favor of this plan because it might garner more votes for Franken. These votes are in the fifth category, which the campaign believes were "improperly disqualified". Not all counties have complied yet.

Per the Briefing Room, the campaign has "not seriously thought about options to order those ballots be counted, including lawsuits or appealing to the U.S. Senate." Franken previously announced, in November, that the Senate could decide the outcome of the election.

As Josh Kraushaar writes in Politico.com, Saxby Chambliss' win in the Georgia Senate race likely significantly reduced Democratic support in the Senate for Franken's cause:

The value of having Franken as the 59th Democratic vote would have to be balanced against the distracting and poisonous partisan battle that is likely to ensue from his selection — a clash that would dominate media coverage, force senators to take a tough vote and threaten the chamber’s ability to move forward on the Obama administration agenda.

Kraushaar quotes Vin Weber, former Republican Congressman from Minnesota, on this topic:

"Saxby’s reelection ends the 2008 election for all intents and purposes. With Norm Coleman having won the Minnesota recount, the enthusiasm for overturning the results of an election will deflate rapidly . . . . The Franken campaign’s hopes that Minnesota would be the 60th seat are no longer relevant, and I suspect that moderate Democratic voices in the Senate will begin pouring cold water on the Franken-Reid effort to drag this matter onto the floor of the United States Senate."

An Open Letter to the DailyKos

I read yesterday an article on the DailyKos from a writer named Scribb. I have to say, amazingly, I fully agree with the opinion expressed by the DailyKos. This particular blog that I write for is suppose to counter the inane dribble that typifies their articles. But not this time. I have to say to blogger Scribb, I hear you brother, and if there is one person that can relate to what you are going through its me.

You see, a couple years ago I too started a company. A hardware products company, which turned out to be very hard, hence the name “hardware”. I have faced, as you say, the banking and investor usury, the issues with getting loans, spending every waking hour wondering how to make payroll, or how to pay the other creditors. Making phone calls to creditors asking for a little time to make ends meet, asking friends, family and fools to invest more money to keep the company going. I would describe the difficulty of starting a business similar to passing through the Eye of a Needle.

So, Scribb, I understand. I understand what family, especially wives, have to put up with in our quest for accomplishment. But I believe, both of us need to look at where the world is heading and what that means for us. As for myself, I believe there are a number of things that could change in this world of finance, which would greatly improve our position and the positions of other small businesses like ourselves. Bailing out Wall Street is not one of them.

The issue today with the current market collapse is the historical reverence to the keynesian model of government interference in the market. The collapse may have started as far back as the 30’s and some people argue it started even before that. What’s at issue is the governmental policies of interference to bring about market balance. Well the dilemma with that plan is the suspension of when and increased size of the collapse. So here we are today.

We need to reconsider how small business - the backbone of America - can get what it needs to survive and flourish. One thing it doesn’t need is a tax burden. Thank God, Obama is reconsidering that plan. One other thing small business needs is access to credit, as you point out quite well in your article. Here is where it really goes south for small business. You see, and Scribb I am sure you will understand this, you cannot have people invest in your company unless they qualify as “accredited investors”. Effectively this means the government has decided that the average person in America is too stupid to make a decision about investing in small businesses, therefore only qualified, rich people can. These rules, established by the SEC, protect the banks, venture capitalist and the rich. They get the freedom to invest in businesses and the rest of us get 401K’s.

As a colleague of mind pointed out, imagine if you will a scenario where anyone could invest in whatever they wanted. There is a store just down the street from me that has been there forever. It is well liked by the community and could do well in other communities if they could expand. But, you see, they make only the money they need to live on, much less grow. What if they could ask their loyal customers to invest in them, get them the money they need to open another store, hire more people. But we can’t. I am not allowed and they cannot offer it to me by law. What’s wrong with bartering, micro loans, and support for one’s community. Look at the Grameen Bank. They proved that non collateralized loans to small business (very small business) can work successfully if the credit is there for them to grow, even if that business is in the third world run by the poorest of the poor.

But again, the “system” here in America has been set up by the banks, the Federal Reserve, politicians and the large financial houses to control “how” money gets lent as credit. This needs to change, starting with the elimination of the Federal Reserve. Then any laws governing what would be called micro loans here in the states need to abolished. Yes it is true, there will always be the con artist waiting to take advantage of people, so education needs to change as well. People need to be taught finance in high school, but more importantly, they need to be taught basic Ludwig Von Mises Lassiez-Faire economics. We need to purge the concepts of socialism from the minds of the young. Real education in the true tenets of capitalism and the dominate power of the consumer to effect change, not the pseudo government controlled socio-capitalism we have been practicing.

This topic alone could fill many books, but in the end what this comes down to is the ability of people to interact in a free market where we can determine for ourselves what opportunities we wish to pursue. You Scribb might have a software product that I need and I might have a hardware product that would benefit you. But our ability to deal on terms for sale or barter has restrictive rules. Even more so, I may find that your product is really good and I would like to get in on the action because I might trust you to make your company a success, but I can’t. You and I cannot come together to help each other grow through investing and mutual concern for one another. That has been given to the financial institutions that have led us to where we are today. Maybe, just maybe, we can have Hope for Change, real change. Change that leads to a new world dominated by open and free capitalism.

I've addressed this before but let me do once again. Printing money that you don't have is not "creating jobs". It takes absolutely no skill or brain power to just go deeper in debt. Any college student knows how to do that. Barry has no plan other than to spend money we don't have. These "jobs" are taxpayer funded. They are not being "created"!!! Wake up America!

Here's the plan Obama laid out today:

First, we'll spend billions of dollars changing out all the light bulbs in our federal buildings.

Secondly, we'll spend billions of dollars on highway projects similar to the "Big Dig".

Thirdly, we'll spend billions of dollars on failing schools with over-paid teachers as well as spend billions of dollars on computers so our students can more easily access their Facebook and Myspace pages.

Lastly, we'll spend billions of dollars putting every Americans' medical history in electronic format so they can readily see how long they have to wait for their next treatment under my new socialized health program.

The eighth would pay $12.
The ninth would pay $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

So, that’s what they decided to do.

The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day the owner threw them a curve.

“Since you are all such good customers, he said, “I’m going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20.”

Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes, so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But what about the other six men – the paying customers? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his “fair share”?

They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody’s share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer.

So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man’s bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

And so:

The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).
The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33% savings).
The seventh now paid $5 instead of $7 (28% savings).
The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).
The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).
The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).

Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings.

“I only got a dollar out of the $20,” declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man, “but he got $10!”

“Yeah, that’s right,” exclaimed the fifth man. “I only saved a dollar, too. It’s unfair that he got ten times more than I!”

“That’s true!” shouted the seventh man. “Why should he get $10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!”

“Wait a minute,” yelled the first four men in unison. “We didn’t get anything at all. The system exploits the poor.”

The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.

The next night the tenth man didn’t show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn’t have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill.

And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, is how our tax system works.

Clarence Thomas is taking the Obama Birth Certificate question to "Conference" today in the United States Supreme Court, and Kos is saying that this is the ultimate betrayal.

I guess it doesn't matter that our Judicial System and our Constitution is at stake here?

Let's take a good look at this Barack Obama Birth Certificate story. There are a lot of unanswered questions. Too many! It has gotten out of hand.

Anyone wondering why Barack Obama has not responded (does not want to answer) (more proof of avoidance here too) to the Court system of the USA that has asked him to provide his Birth Certificate??? More than once! The REAL thing! Not just a "Certificate of Live Birth!" Not just a NewsPaper Article! A REAL birth certificate??

(Barack Obama is not responding to requests for information from multiple places outside of the Courts too)

Our media doesn't seem to care. All we are seeing is their half hearted attempt to "cover" the story. Or should we say their full bore attempt to "cover up" the story?

Philip Berg in Federal Court, requested a valid birth certificate from Barack Obama, or the DNC, to be given to the Court for review. To date Barack Obama has ignored Court requests and has submitted no information. He has only tried to dismiss the case.

Nothing has been submitted by Barack Obama to the Courts, except requests for the case to be dismissed!!! All time frames the Court set for submittal have been given the brush off!!

To me, that's giving the finger to the Law System and the Constitution of the United States of America!!

The man who holds the (new) office of "President Elect" isn't even in the Presidential Office yet and he thinks our Court System and Constitution should be ignored??

NewsFlash - The displayed "Certification of live birth" has many critics saying it is discredited as altered. But regardless of that issue, the "Certification of Live Birth" is not a birth certificate. Brian Sussman of KSFO radio said recently that his investigations have found that the "Certification of Live Birth" form from Hawaii could have been issued for a child born outside of the USA!

A "Certification of live birth" doesn't testify that the child was born in the USA, as required for the Office of the Presidency in the USA.

Sussman also brought up that the "Certification of live birth" is unreliable. He explained that you need to show your real birth certificate for Pop Warner Football! They don't allow anyone to use a certificate of live birth because they are not the real thing. The "certificate of live birth" is not used by Pop Warner because, through experience, they know they can be unreliable!

Unreliability of this Certificate means that none of us could use a "Certification of Live Birth" to prove anything in the United states of America! Why on Earth would we allow this type of certificate to prove eligibility to be President of the United States of America???

The citizens of the United States need to see the REAL birth certificate and the need to know the truth!

The man who brought us the ten minute video "How Obama got elected" featuring 12 Obama Voters that were misinformed by the MSM, and subsequently was viewed by over 1.6 Million people on Youtube. Due to the overwhelming response and the Public Outcry from the Obama followers, Zeigler has run another poll, this time asking questions of both McCain and Obama supporters. The results confirmed what most of us already knew, McCain Voters were significantly more informed than Obama Voters. But the poll is not designed to make Obama voters look stupid, the purpose was to be an Indictment of the Media for their Negligence in informing the Public. The second study also offered some interesting results about Where the informed get their Information.

Those “exposed” to Fox News voted 70-29 for McCain.

Those “exposed” to CNN voted 63-37 for Obama.

Those “exposed” to MSNBC voted 73-26 for Obama.

Those “exposed” to network newscasts voted 62-37 for Obama.

Those “exposed” to national newspapers voted 64-36 for Obama.

35 % of McCain voters got 10 or more of 13 questions correct.

18% of Obama voters got 10 or more of 13 questions correct.

McCain voters knew which party controls congress by a 63-27 margin.

Obama voters got the “congressional control” question wrong by 43-41.

Those that got "congressional control" correct voted 56-43 for McCain.

Those that got "congressional control" wrong voted 65-35 for Obama.

One of the other more interesting tidbits from this survey is that only 48% of CNN Viewers surveyed got the "congressional control" question correct. They had a 50-50 chance just by guessing. Yet, CNN is still considered a viable source of "news" by some Americans.

Maybe Ziegler's effort will change that.

It is unfortunate that when power, instilled in man, follows its natural course, it results in the deterioration of ethics, moral judgment, fairness, and liberty. All for the betterment of the powerful, as they master their authority over the citizenry. Our founding fathers saw this first hand and took considerable efforts to prevent totalitarianism and dictatorial control over the fledging United States. Checks and Balances, a negative power-based constitution, and obstructive rules for changing the status quo. All for the purpose of preventing a single person from gaining authority over the people. But with the accumulation of fearful crises, we head down this road again, without remorse or concern, under the “well-meaning” and enlightened visions of our new Messiah-in-Chief Barack Obama.

It is also unfortunate that our fledgling country of only 232 years, which has seen its fair share of fascist, totalitarian attempts made against the people, has not learned the lesson of the past and seems eager to repeat it. Some of you like myself, finished school with what we would consider a quality education, but yet are unaware of the attempts made by the few to rest control away from the many. It began early with military actions against citizens by the likes of president’s Washington and Adams. Or military incursions into foreign lands (Mexico and Spanish Florida) without Congressional approval from President’s Madison and Monroe. But it was our beloved Lincoln, considered to be one of our best presidents, that made use of para-military organizations against the people a new art form.

Lincoln’s Secretary of State Seward stated “I can touch a bell on my right hand and order the imprisonment of a citizen of Ohio (Vallandigham); I can touch the bell again and order the imprisonment of a citizen from New York; and no power on earth except the President can release them.” In the end, Lincoln’s “domestic defense force” arrested close to 18,000 citizens for dissenting against the war. He also suspended Habius Corpus, our writ of liberty. But Lincoln paled in comparison to President Wilson.

A group known as the American Protective League (Created in Chicago. How convenient) was used under Wilson to find and arrest “slackers” and dissenters of WWI. This citizen brigade was known to violate most civil liberties “for the good of the people." Sociologist Robert Nisbet commented, “the West’s first real experience with totalitarianism, came with the American war state under Wilson.” In the end, more than 16,000 americans were arrested and jailed for such crimes as “mouth-to-mouth propaganda."

What is particularly unnerving is the term “slackers." Mussolini’s fascist civilian defense gangs used this term to refer to citizens that disagreed with “their” official message of the day. Even George Bernard Shaw, socialist extraordinaire and spiritual mentor to the Alinsky training brigade from which Obama came, was impressed with “the good works” of the Soviet Secret Police in dealing with “slackers." Saul Alinsky and Frank Davis (mentor to Obama) both found reassurance and comfort in the Shaw belief of a State mandated “Unified Front” (thought police) created through organizational change and Soviet style grass roots re-education (Community Organizing).

And the list goes on; President Roosevelt trying to stack the Supreme Court with four extra judges that would side with him so he could impose his extended “New Deal” initiatives, wiretapping from Nixon to Bush the second (Clinton did it too with Operation Carnivore), the japanese internment camps of WWII and not to mention the myriad of examples from Chinese, Cuban, African, Nicaragua and Russian communist regimes to the “Hitler Youth."

So, with example after example of government’s foray into domestic, sometimes civilian, usually para-military, defense forces going horribly bad, we look to the Messiah’s mandatory service in a civilian defense force and laud its benefits to the betterment of our youth, who will be indoctrinated during a four month or longer “training program." Don’t mistake what this means. Who decides the “topics” for training in this new state run community education program, Bill Ayers? Who trains the new recruits on community action, ACORN? And WHO ever said that my active membership to the country required my mandatory servitude. Remember the lesson of Wilson’s American Protective League; just “thinking different” could get you arrested for propagandizing. If you think the Fairness Doctrine is scary, well...

Man Made Global Warming is an Agenda for Totalitarianism.

I know it is shocking that anyone would say that, today when we are supposed to be so enlightened! Especially in the USA! Most of us think that could never, ever happen in the good o'l USA!! Checks and Balances are supposed to make sure that doesn't happen! Right? But hear me out and please look into all of this yourself. Look beyond the main stream media and Al Gore, who have proven time and again that they don't inform, they misinform. I looked into it, and I'll share with you the only conclusion that I could rationally come to, and why:

Blaming man for Global Warming/Climate Change is the new agenda for totalitarianism. The new communist agenda. Global totalitarian government is now dressed up as "concern for the Earth."

Many are already aware of this. We need a majority to know the truth! Until most of us "get" this about man made global warming/climate change, and stand up against it and reject it, totalitarian government is exactly where we are all heading. By design!

What should be made clear before I go one bit farther here is , yes we all want to take care of our beloved Earth! Yes, we want to cherish and pass on God's creation to our future! Yes, we should take care of the Earth! Yes, we all should insist on clean air, soil and water!

But the "man made" global warming/climate change agenda isn't about making sure any of that happens!

The "man made" global warming/climate change agenda isn't about taking care of the Earth and clean air and water!!!

It is about power. It is about control over every single thing in our lives by government.

As Czech President Vaclav Klaus said about global warming/climate change in 2007, 'This ideology preaches earth and nature and under the slogans of their protection – similarly to the old Marxists – wants to replace the free and spontaneous evolution of mankind by a sort of central, now global, planning of the whole world.'

A Czech President would know about central planning and communism, the Czech People lived through that!!! Now the Czech President sees central planning and communism going "global" in the global warming/climate change ideology! I'd take his word for it!

As we all know, the "man made" global warming/climate change "ideology" is determined to control "CO2" worldwide. Well, let's think about that whole idea for a minute. It just so happens that CO2 is the result of all business and human activity in the World! That must mean, in a nutshell, that this man made global warming/climate change ideology is determined to control every business and personal activity in our Country and in this World! With central planning of the whole World!

Controlling every business and personal activity in our Country or in the World is communism! That is totalitarianism! Doesn't that prove that the net result of solving "man made" global warming/climate change, the way those pushing it want to solve it, is totalitarianism & communism???

To me, that says it all!!!! That reveals every single thing we need to see!!!!

Our weather people can't even get the weather "tomorrow" right on a regular basis! But those who are pushing global warming/climate change want us to believe they can map out "100 years of weather prophesy," that is not debatable, and we should give up all our rights, our freedom, our sovereignty and our ability to have prosperity and spread prosperity, for their weather models??? I say no!

Question - Why would they choose to push communism this way??

Well, communism is a failed ideology. The communists can not sell communism on its merits! Because there are no real merits of communism! Communists finally realized that trying to force everyone under a totalitarian government doesn't sell. They found out that forcing people to give up their rights and freedoms, doesn't go over well, anywhere. They realized that pushing their agenda with prison camps, killing, weapons and military engagement, PR wise, isn't appealing. They know now that the people will rise up and resist that.

The communists realized that pushing power over the World, for powers sake, doesn't draw in the crowds to their side. They needed a new way to move their agenda forward, with little resistance from the masses.

They needed some way to have the total control over the World they wanted, packaged in a way that people would buy. Global Warming/Climate Change is their answer.

Communists want to convince the masses that HUMANS are now responsible for natural climate changes that have been happening since the beginning of the Earth. Communists want to convince the masses that HUMANS must change their activity, to government prescribed and controlled activity, to solve the problem.

Communists are determined to make the people believe this global warming/climate change lie, so the communists can control the World and all activity in the World.

"Concern for the World" for the Worlds sake, has always been popular. So the communists re-branded their agenda.

But don't be fooled, this is the same old, failed communism, with shiny new packaging! New and improved "benevolent oppression" packaging!

Sure, how do I know? What other solution can you come to when:

Man made Global Warming/Climate Change is all based on lies. It's solutions involve full government control over everything, and the loss of our sovereignty, our rights and our prosperity.

Yes, I know, Shocking! Hard to believe! But yes this can happen in America! Remember, totalitarian government is never chosen, it is always imposed, or the people are tricked into it! Hitler's Germany, Cuba's Castro and Iran are good, recent, examples. These are all "revolutions" for freedom, that were intentionally led to tyranny!

When those walls came down, everyone was convinced communism failed, except the communists!!!

They are still active and interested in pushing their agenda. They still want to regain power any way possible. And they are still going after their enemy, capitalism!

This re branding of communism is deceptive, and we can be certain that the deception doesn't stop there. It is weaved through the whole global warming agenda. The whole idea of global warming is a farce, so lies are needed to hold the whole thing together. They have to lie about the weather and temperature measurements to keep the lie going.

So, be ready! When anyone is pushing man made global warming/climate change, or they are saying that they are going to do something about global warming/climate change, what they are really saying is, "I'm trying to ruin this nation and Her capitalism." What they are really saying is, "I am helping to implement communism and global government in the United States of America, using the man made global warming/climate change lie. "

They will pretend they are putting the People of the USA first, but they are actually lying to our faces, so they can betray us!

By using the media to push that global warming and climate change is all about the Earth, the communists are trying to make all us us into useful idiots for the communists. They want us to believe their lie, rise up and make this climate agenda happen! They want us to rise up, have a revolution, and enslave ourselves in their totalitarianism.

This whole global warming/climate change idea has come to all of us politicized, with all the reports of catastrophe, and solutions, coming from places like the UN and Al Gore. Reports and solutions that want to create big government, more tax burdens and regulations that take away individual rights, including property rights.

(In case you don't know, the UN doesn't think any citizens should have property rights. Property rights are our basis for freedom and prosperity in our capitalistic society, and the UN doesn't want that.)

Yep, one of the biggest pushers of global warming/climate change on the World is the UN...(the only place on the planet that the totalitarian government of Saudi Arabia can run any type of interfaith dialogue, or human rights seminar and be taken seriously!)

Global Warming didn't bubble up through science and sound education for years and years. It is political and has been pushed by the UN and useful idiot politicians. Man made Global Warming and Climate Change is being used as something to exploit, to grow government power!

It is time to look beyond what the media is telling you and look into this subject, critically and seriously. It is time for all People to wake up and stop the global warming agenda! It is crucial that you make sure you don't allow yourself to be tricked into thinking totalitarian government is the solution to anything!! For your sake, and the sake of all our futures.

One of the things that Daschle says will have to change is the "technology arms race" he claims hospitals are engaging in "to attract aging baby boomers with the latest diagnostic imaging machines." Imagine that, offering customers the latest technology, which, as Daschle admits on Page 125, "help(s) doctors estimate the spread of cancer or the extent of cardiac disease without surgery."

Of course, for Daschle, the problem with such high-tech diagnostics is that it leads to treatment. On pages 123-124, he cites a study approvingly for the proposition that there are too many angiograms being performed. By too many, he specifically cites a study of 828 angioplasties in which only a third were likely to benefit the patients. Another half might or might not, and 14 percent were not likely. Now I might conclude that if 85 percent of the patients receiving the treatment might benefit (the one-third who definitely would and the 50 percent who might) and if I were one of them, I might want the procedure. But for Daschle, that would be a waste of money, and "the imaging test that shows narrowing of the arteries was to blame (for the
excessive treatment)."

What followed is my favorite line in the book: "When the test revealed a narrowing of the artery, however slight, cardiologists couldn't resist doing something about it." Imagine a doctor trying to cure his patient.

Their no-strings-attached ties undermine Washington’s efforts to advance free markets, human rights and democracy in the region—not a high priority for Moscow or Beijing.

Conventional wisdom says our sway is declining in this hemisphere. If true, that’s bad news. Since geography is destiny, maintaining - or regaining - America’s influence in the region will be key for the next US president.

So the president-elect has committed to "creating" 2.5 million new jobs by 2011. I hate to rain on this idiotic leftist parade, but how does Mr. Change plan on funding these jobs? You see, these jobs aren't really being "created". They are being funded by taxpayers. Yes, they're make-believe jobs that are being "created" by a company that is 10 trillion dollars in the red! Wow. He's so smart. What an ingenious plan. Spend money you don't have and go deeper in debt. That takes so much skill. I wonder what he'll do next. Maybe "raise" the graduation rate by cutting high school back to the 10th grade? Or maybe, he'll "decrease" the prison population by releasing "non-violent" offenders. Or maybe he'll "lower" the infant mortality rate in Africa by funding abortion clinics there. Wow. He's so smart. I'm sure that Sarah Palin could of never came up with such a unique plan like increasing deficit spending. Wow. He's so smart.

We all know the political power of the Clinton machine, but who would have thought that power extended to ousting an elected president. I know, “What!?” you say. Well sometime the face before the camera is just that, the appearance of reality. But fold the onion layers back and the stinging reality hits you. Obviously by now, everyone has heard that Hillary Rodham Clinton is the new Secretary of State. But what many people may not realize is the depth to which the Clinton apparatus has penetrated the Obamanation.

Step back a bit to the early years of the 2008 presidential race and a pointent, very telling look at the future of our presidency happened in Iowa. During the Democratic debates, Sen. Obama was asked how his message of ‘change’ was effected by the multitude of Clinton staffers prowling his inner circle. Lets go to the video....

Hillary may have been laughing, as she is want to do, but the Obama retort was more than eerie looking at it today. Maybe my mind is slightly distrustful of liberals, but just before the DNC convention, it was understood that Clinton would quarrel with Obama over the delegate count. But our desire for a 15 round cage match was dashed by the pronouncement from Mrs Clinton that Obama should be the next democratic nominee without a vote. Is it me, but can you imagine the negotiation between Hillary and Obama before this declaration;

H: “Vice President”
O: “No way, no deal”
H: “OK well, it has to be a major cabinet post, State Department?”
O: “Hmmmm, Uh, OK Fine, but Bill keeps his mouth shut!”
H: “Deal”

Fast forward to today, as we receive the continual announcements of White House staff from our new government agency, Office of the President-Elect. Although a number of major department level secretaries have not been determined, many key White House positions have been filled. Obviously, these positions are central for the insiders that gave up their lives to see their candidate get elected. Its their reward, the ring on the Carousel of political campaigning. But what do we see? The man most likely to get the Chief of Staff position, David Axelrod shunned for Clintonista Rahm Emmanuel.

And the ‘Change’ doesn’t stop there. Since the announcements for the White House began, at least 11 are past Clinton appointees or deputies of those appointees. Jackie Norris, Catherine Russell, David Axelrod ( not really an appointee, but instrumental in the Clinton and Emmanuel war machines), Lisa Brown, Greg Craig, Mona Sutphen, Ron Klain, Tim Geithner, Bill Richardson, Hillary Clinton and the king of ironic appointments, Eric Holder. Guess he didn’t have to answer one of those Obamanation ethics questionnaires.

But lets be fair here. Who does Obama really know that could fill the enormous number of positions waiting. Well a trip to Chicagoland shows that Obama has no choice but a Clinton intervention. For Example:

Press Secretary - Marilyn Katz. A retread ’60’s violent leftist radical, friend of Bill Ayers
Department of Labor - David Roediger. The epitome of Marxism in America.
Department of Education - Bill Ayers. Say it with me... ‘YES OBAMA, YES OBAMA”. Repeat.
Department of Housing and Urban Development - Mayor Richard Daley. His political prowess puts the Mob to shame.
US Department of Agriculture - Michael Milken. Chicago Mercantile Exchange criminal and close personal friend of Biden.
Department of Energy - John Rowe. Can someone say, "Show Me the Money!!"
Department of Transportation - James P. Hoffa. What the Hoffa’s have done for the Teamsters, they will do for us... Oh Crap!

Needless to say, when you grow up in the Chicago political family, your relationship with them outside of Chicago is difficult for anyone else to understand. Unfortunately, it would have been a service to the country if the ‘Driveby Media’ had actually done their job.

Let's take a look what the Democratic brain-trust in Congress had to say today about a solution for the Big 3 automakers:

Earlier today, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said that she and Senate Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) will send a letter to the heads of GM, Ford and Chrysler, telling them what they need to show Congress in order to get federal bailout money.

Pelosi said that she wants lawmakers to tell Congress that, if it approves the bailout, Detroit will:
1. pay no shareholder dividends
2. give no bonuses to employees making more than $200,000
3. explain how they will invest in advanced technology to make more fuel-efficient vehicles

Let me translate these three ingenious recommendations for the "Hope and Change" crowd:

1. make their stock even less attractive to investors
2. run-off every bit of talent they have by taking away monetary incentives
3. squander the little bit of cash they currently have by investing in "green" technology while gas is closing in on a $1.50 per gallon

I'm passing on this update on the Supreme Court's processing of one of the now-multiple lawsuits that call into question the legitimacy of Obama's candidacy for President, based on Article 2, Section 1, Clause 5 of the Constitution.

From Red County blogger Rus Thompson:

On December 5, 2008, only ten days before the electoral college votes, the nine Justices of the U.S. Supreme Court will meet in private to review Obama's citizenship status.
Leo Donofrio's case, "Leo C. Donofrio, v. Nina Mitchell Wells, Secretary of State of the State of New Jersey, United States Supreme Court Docket No. 08A407," regarding Obama's citizenship has reached a new level. The case has been "distributed for conference."
This docketing today by the court should send ripples of fear through the Obama camp. Obama has been proceeding at lightening speed to put together a cabinet and take possession of the White House with the hope that he won't have to answer the question of whether or not he was "at birth" a "natural born citizen."

Thompson points out that the MSM has completely ignored the Obama citizenship lawsuits, calling them the work of "sore losers or conspiracy theories". However, "If four of the nine Justices vote to hear the case in full review, oral argument may be ordered."

Thompson's report is consistent with the SCOTUS online docket.

These tax credits will do little or nothing to promote economic growth because they do not reduce marginal tax rates -- the rate on the next dollar of income -- to provide powerful, meaningful incentives for productive activities such as investment, entrepreneurship and work. A tax credit is effectively a cash grant that can only affect incentives up to the amount of the grant. Indeed, such tax credits would likely reduce economic growth because the credits are phased out as income rises, and so effectively impose higher marginal tax rates over those income levels.

For a real middle-class tax cut, we should cut the 25% income tax rate that now applies to single workers earning $32,550 to $78,850, and married couples earning $65,100 to $131,450. We should reduce that rate down to the 15% rate paid by workers below these income levels. That would, in effect, establish a flat-rate tax of 15% for close to 90% of American workers.

Given the data presented here, I think this is a cautionary tale for the President-elect. This does not mean, of course, that he must govern like a Republican from Kentucky. Far from it! It just means he should be aware that there are factions in the country that strongly opposed him, and he should be careful with how he manages these groups. He does not have to do what they want him to do, but he should not overly antagonize them.

The political consequences of that could be harmful. For instance, in the states shaded red in the 2008 picture, there are about 20 white Democratic Representatives and 7 Senators who will stand for reelection at least once in the next eight years. President-elect Obama has to be mindful of them - otherwise, they could go the the way that the New England Republicans have gone in the Bush years.

All sorts of promises are proposed to bail out mortgage holders who have defaulted or owe more than their homes are worth. Apparently, no debtor is really culpable. And apparently, no one took out second or third mortgages for optional consumer purchases, or bought homes too large for their incomes.

What is the lesson here for other pinched families who will not default and will somehow meet their mortgage obligations, even on homes with negative equity? Is it that those who pay what they owe are punished while those who fail to are excused?
President-elect Barack Obama promised over $1 trillion in new entitlements at a time when the Bush administration may well run a $500 billion annual deficit, only adding to a $10 trillion national debt. We also have $50 trillion in federal unfunded liabilities, ranging from long-term promises to Medicare and Social Security to payouts for government bonds and guaranteed loans.

Such massive borrowing and guarantees all offer cover for insolvent or poorly run programs (that face no worry of running out of money -- and thus have no incentive to change). Corporate farmers just learned that the current $288 billion farm bill will once again provide government subsidies to ensure that it won't matter much whether they plant the wrong crop at the wrong time.

Universities raise tuition rates that exceed the rate of inflation. But in our brave, new no-failure world, why worry when more promised federal-guaranteed student loans and credits will ensure steady paying enrollment? With guaranteed federal money, why be concerned that colleges and universities are overstaffed with administrators, replete with centers and programs that have nothing to do with undergraduate education, and erecting Las Vegas-like student unions and colossal recreation centers?

Americans are creating a therapeutic society in which none of us need fail. No one loses in T-ball anymore. Schools honor a dozen valedictorians. In universities, a "C"
passing grade is now the understood kinder and gentler version of the old and
now-rare "F."

Our culture forgot that there was once a utility in failure. Failing reminded us of what works and what doesn't -- and how we must learn to avoid the latter. Instead, in our new economic purgatory, no firm, company, state, city or individual ever quite goes to financial heaven or hell. A Bear Stearns or Chrysler neither succeeds nor fails but just sort of endlessly exists.

This is what it came down to, Liebermann said if they took his committee chair, he'd caucus with the Republicans, it was that simple. (Frankly, you should be more worried that 31 of 47 appointments are from the Clinton Circus Administration.)

Then Gonzalez, the absolute evil man who, managed to fire people that the President didn't want. I do not care if George Bush wanted to fire them because he did not like their nose piercings. You see, that is how real jobs are, you work, the boss doesn't like you, you go home. He cannot do it based on race, religion, sex or age, but that is about it. Why are Government and Union jobs different? If you cannot get fired for any reason ever, and you'll have massive amounts of money poured into a lawsuit, just because, some idiot thinks Bush is the spawn of Satan, why would you ever work? In fact, if Obama is going to take care of everything, why work at all?

15 Billion is Chicken Feed, Obama

Someone calling himself Meteor Blades has written a missive entitled Open Thread for Night Owls, Early Birds & Expats in which he bemoans the fact that the One plans to spend only a paltry 15 billion dollars a year fighting climate change.

Fighting climate change may well be a noble calling on par with windmill tilting and unicorn chasing. I can see the romance in it -- really, I can. After all, science says it must be done and if science says it, it must be right. Only the most bone-headed fundamentalist would have the effrontery to question science.

So, in order not to appear ignorant, I will happily own to global warming even though I am freezing my ass off in the first snow storm of the year in the Great Lakes region. There is one nagging question that continues to bother me no matter how unseasonably warm things may get.

How in the hell is the government going to do it?

I suppose we could invade China and force environmental controls on them. After we showed them the error of their ways, I'm sure that India and other emerging industrial nations would take notice.

Of course, the One will not invade China. He will attend meetings in Poland, bemoan the state of the climate, and make promises to the world that we will mend our wastrel ways. And people like Meteor Blades will complain that 15 billion dollars a year isn't nearly enough.

It would be funny if our children and grandchildren and great grandchildren didn't have to pay for it.

I am a Conservative Because...

Even though I believe the more evil of the two lessers won the election (please don’t flame the statement, its just a term of use. And no I don’t believe Obama is evil. Misguided yes), I am not depressed, remorseful, downhearted or dejected. In fact, I am ecstatic over of the opportunity to remold the Republican party into a more conservative, focused and principled political machine. Its a once in a life time event, beside the creation of a new party, like the original founding of the Republican party. Call it a mulligan, or what ever is your fancy, but we have the chance to effect the future of this country for the better.

The comments from the left seem to say that the election shows republicans/conservatives stand for nothing, while the liberal elites bath in the glory of their progressive opinions. This is by far the truth. As a response to those that “stand” for what is liberal, here is what it means to be conservative.

I am a Conservative because I believe American succeeds when we stand up for our country. WE created it, WE defend it, WE promote it, WE admonish it and WE ARE IT. If you are not “it”, then there is a new homeland call that EU that is perfectly welcoming.
I am a Conservative because I believe in the inventive ingenuity of its people and their ability to form businesses for the purpose of selling products, making a profit and paying its employees. Neither bottom up (Communism) or Top Down (Authoritarianism) work. It is the people alone and their creativity that drive the economy
I am a Conservative because I believe the government should get out of the people’s affairs. No where in the Constitution does it stipulate rights to universal health care, welfare, social security, prescription drugs, the Department of Education, Health and Human Services, or the EPA. The list goes on but you get the point.
I am a Conservative because I believe in common sense and the reality of the world. Judgement takes common sense and the reality of the world is harsh, filled with people intent on doing harm. You cannot solve problems pretending they don’t exist, you have to face them head on with a principled moral compass for guidance to your common sense solutions.

Kossacks' Tantrum over Lieberman Shows Democrats' Fundamental Weakness

The Kossacks have been writing furiously yesterday and today about the Senate Democratic leadership's handling of Senator Joe Lieberman. This anger-fest is particularly amusing because of yesterday's post by Jed L (author of the Jed Report) on the so-called Republican "circular firing squad". To borrow (a revised version of) Jed's opening line, "Ah, don't you love Democratic infighting?"

The coverage on DK began in earnest yesterday with posts by Kos himself. Kos clearly wanted Lieberman drawn and quartered for supporting McCain's Presidential campaign. He was delighted when Lieberman's allies turned on him, calling for "significant consequences" (namely, stripping him of powerful committee leadership appointments). Noting that there was nevertheless a movement afoot to minimize these "consequences", Kos wrote:

The American people voted overwhelmingly, in landslide numbers, for change. Lieberman is George Bush's most faithful ally on Iraq, and his continued chairmanship of the committee tasked with national security would be spitting in the face of the American electorate.

It's looking like maybe, just maybe, the caucus truly does realize it and plans to act accordingly.

In a subsequent Monday post, Kos complained that the Senate Democrats planned to vote on the Lieberman issue using a secret ballot process:

Now these senators may not care what their constituents think. But given the American people voted overwhelmingly for change, keeping George Bush's best friend on Iraq in his committee, removing him in favor of someone in tune with popular sentiment (and the incoming administration) should be a no-brainer. And if the Senate spits in the face of this desire for change, then at the very least they should have the balls to own up to it.

Interesting, isn't it, that what Senate Democratic leaders feel is best for American workers (namely, Card Check, which is an Obama priority), is not good enough for them? Unions should be able to harass workers publicly into joining a union, but Senate Democrats do not have to reveal to each other or their constituents whether they supported or opposed Lieberman.

Next, Kagro X argued that the District of Columbia should not be represented by Lieberman because Obama carried DC by a 93% margin. "Wait a minute," you say, "doesn't Lieberman represent Connecticut, not DC? DC doesn't have a Senator!" Here's how it works:

And as you're no doubt aware, the District's affairs are fairly closely overseen by Congress. It's not a state, and as a federal district, Congress has a pretty big say in how it gets run and who runs it.
So who handles that on the Senate side? That's right, the "Governmental Affairs" side of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. And that means Lieberman -- the guy who must think 93% of DC pals around with terrorists.
It's true. According to the committee's web site, Senate Rule XXV(k)(1) gives them jurisdiction over the "municipal affairs of the District of Columbia, except appropriations therefor." Which is why this afternoon, Joe Lieberman's committee will be holding confirmation hearings for two DC judicial nominees. Right. Not the Judiciary Committee -- that's for federal judicial appointments. DC municipal court nominations are in the hands of... Joe Lieberman.

Actually, Sarah Palin must think that 93% of DC pals around with terrorists. Having lived there for five years, I'd have to agree.

But, I digress. Yesterday afternoon, Roll Call reported that a deal was brokered in which Senator Lieberman would lose only a subcommittee chairmanship. This drove Kos into a curse-laden tizzy:

Um, what idiot would think that taking away a subcommittee from Lieberman would be seen as a "stinging rebuke"? In whose DC-Beltway-addled mind is that even remotely punishment?
Let Lieberman keep that subcommittee. No one gives a shit about it. The only thing that matters, the only thing that Lieberman wants, and the only thing we don't want him to have -- is the chairmanship of the Homeland Security Committee.
If this is the "starting point", and given the Senate Democrats' history of capitulations, expect Lieberman to come out of that meeting as majority leader.

In fact, today Lieberman lost "only . . . his spot on the Environment and Public Works Committee", according to Roll Call. Apparently at President-Elect Obama's direction, Senate Democrats did take Margaret Hoover's "bad advice", Jed L. Kos responded, "There isn't a more tone-deaf group of people anywhere in this country than inside the U.S. Senate." I guess the Senate Democrats aren't giving that "seat at the table" to the Daily Kos after all. In a subsequent post, Kos added, "the Senate Democratic caucus are a bunch of spineless asses utterly unwilling and unable to deliver the change the American people requested."

The reality of the Lieberman situation is that Senate Democrats believe that they need him to caucus (and, more importantly, to vote) with them. As the Democrats' very own "maverick" (who used to be a "DINO" before he went "independent"), he could have been a great thorn in their side if they had spanked him too hard. In exchange for the leniency, Lieberman promised to be a good boy:

More importantly, though: the Daily Kos' coverage of the Lieberman debacle is a preview of the tantrums that the left wing of the Democratic Party will throw whenever soon-to-be inaugurated President Obama appears to be straying from their radical political path. All moderates and other traitors must be thrown under the bus! For Kos, this includes the left-wing leaders themselves: "I'm done with Reid as Senate leader."

This internal divisiveness, which is coming to light even before Obama has been inaugurated, points to potentially serious problems in the Democrats' ability to govern, "given the Senate Democrats' history of capitulations." If Kos wants to go on thinking that having Joe Lieberman in the Senate is equivalent to having President Bush in the White House, that's OK with me. Here's the kind of dialogue that this mindset creates:

Jane Hamsher: With all due respect Governor Dean, we were just told to go screw ourselves, that our concerns for Barack Obama and our concern about the war and everything else that we fought so hard for within the Democratic party is meaningless and that Joe being happy and giving in to his threats--and he did threaten Democrats in his press conference--is more important than we are. And so I don't think it was a matter of reconciliation. I think we were told to go Cheney ourselves.

[Howard] Dean: I haven't seen the blogs about this because this just happened but I'm sure the sentiment online is one of outrage. But I would line up with Barack. I don't think you were told to go screw yourselves at all. I think he has got to now practice what he preaches during two years of campaigns if he wants to bring America together and as objectionable as Joe's behavior was, and frankly unprincipled, I don't think that this is the thing that should divide us. And I don't think it's about his votes for FISA or anything else. I think it's about what kind of a tone do we want to send. Do we want a purge as the first thing we do? I don't think so.

Meanwhile, many Republicans are attempting to return the GOP to classic conservative ideas, values and policy goals. Let's hope the Democrats keep on fighting amongst themselves while the GOP rebuilds and retools (pace BarbinMD). This is the stuff of which the Republican resurgence in 2010 will be made.

Chambliss Stands up for Sugar Workers-Media Spins it Again....

Opponents of Saxby Chambliss, the United States Senator from Georgia have created a mythical tale surrounding a very tragic event. On February 7th, 2008, a silo at Imperial Sugar company exploded ultimately killing 14 and leaving near three dozen others severely injured. The OSHA findings have shown that the explosion was caused when a bucket broke, causing a spark which ignited the combustible sugar dust in the bottom of the Silo.

When the Senate held hearings in July of this year, Sen. Chambliss asked some very pointed questions to the man who was in charge of Safety for Imperial Sugar, Graham H. Graham. According to Graham's testimony, he had implemented many changes in recent months because he found the conditions to be dangerous. He also testified that after the explosion he was no longer invited to attend meetings concerning the investigation.

The Liberal local media and their buddies at the DailyKos, would have you believe that Graham was a whistle blower. Only problem is he Never actually blew the Whistle. He didn't go to the Press and demand the plant be shut down. Hell, he didn't even go to Imperial Sugar and demand it be shut down. He's not a Whistle blower, he's a guy that was in charge of the safety of hundreds of people, who didn't get the job done.

Chambliss was criticized by the local media and others for his tough questioning of Graham H. Graham. Some even falsely reported Chambliss had received $1000 from an Imperial Sugar Pac.

I stand with employees and families of Imperial Sugar who have had a life-changing experience.

On Feb. 7 of this year, our coastal community experienced a great tragedy when an explosion occurred at the Imperial Sugar refinery in Port Wentworth. Thirteen lives were lost, dozens more were injured and families were changed forever.

Following the explosion, I visited with the families and employees and toured the exterior of the facility. It was indeed an emotional visit.

These types of accidents must be prevented, and that is why I have continued to seek answers on behalf of the families who were shaken by this terrible situation. It is why Sen. Johnny Isakson and I urged the U.S. Secretary of Labor and the interim executive of the U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board to fully investigate the accident and, if appropriate, assess penalties to any party determined to have violated The Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) Act.

OSHA is the only federal agency with the statutory authority to penalize the company for violations of workplace safety law.

The results of the OSHA investigation, recently released, determined that Imperial Sugar "egregiously and willfully" violated safety and health standards and a total of $8,777,000 in fines was issued to Imperial Sugar, making it the third largest fine to one company in the history of OSHA.

However, this is not the end of the story, and it is for this reason I asked tough questions during a hearing on Capitol Hill this past week examining the role of combustible dust, which is believed to have played a role in the accident.

During the hearing, an official of Imperial Sugar testified about conditions at the plant, and I asked him some tough and direct questions. This is an emotional and tragic issue, so it is baffling to me that my intense questioning created quite a stir in the media, with some making accusations that this newspaper has since had to correct for being false.

In fact, I did not receive a political contribution from Imperial Sugar in June 2008 as the paper reported.

Let me be clear, I was elected by the people of Georgia to stick up for them, and when injuries occur and lives are lost in a tragedy like the one that occurred in Port Wentworth, you bet I am going to ask harsh questions. The media needs to do the same. It infuriates me that this incident occurred and it cannot happen again.

During the hearing, I believed it was necessary to ask the witness, who held himself out to be in charge of safety at the plant and had described the conditions as "shocking, dirty, dangerous, and combustible," why he didn't recommend the plant be shut down and cleaned up. The company had adhered to every one of his recommendations to that point, so I wanted to know why he had not proposed to management to shut down the facility and make it safe.

Because of that question, some accused me of taking a "cheap shot," but the unfortunate reality here is people were seriously hurt and lives were lost when this situation clearly could have been prevented.

It is disappointing that members of the media chose to come down on the side of political cynicism. That is not what Georgians want, but unfortunately in this case, that is what they got.

I will continue to ask the tough questions and stand with the employees and the families who have had a life changing experience, and I will do everything I can to ensure a tragedy like this does not happen again.

So while Saxby Chambliss is trying to find out what really happened and how it could be prevented from happening again, the Liberal Media spins an Election Year tale that they hope will deliver their "happy ending".

God Has a Sense of Humor

Funny thing happened on the way to the Global Climate Change (Warming) meeting, it snowed. And not just once, but over and over again. It seems Al Gore and his Climate Priests of the Apocalypse cannot show up anywhere without an abnormal cold front and bad weather abruptly interfering with their meeting. Siting here in the Nation's Capital, where the High temperature today will not break the average cold temperature, you see the stage God has set for this comedy tour. More than once, Al Gore and team have shown up to discuss the climate change emergency, only to have the meeting cancelled by Snow.

But it does not matter where he goes or which of his political allies conduct the meeting, the outcome is the same. What’s unfortunately not funny for the participants of these climate protests, is the lesson they sometimes have to learn when they try to make a point. But still they are not deterred, and God calls them up on stage to be the Patsy. In most cases the parade of jesters marching to announce our imminent demise, gives us the opportunity to laugh at their Ministry of Silly Walks.

What’s not funny is the universal zeal the believers have in concocting “solutions”. Schemes that undoubtedly will result in higher taxes, higher priced products and controls on the everyday events of our lives for which government with have a final say. Remember the last time we had the government interfere with the production of products along environmentally conservative guidelines? We got the AMC Gremlin, the Pacer and the Ford Pinto.

One last point on man or nature's ability to effect the environment. It seems that on December 25-26 (the birthday of Christ) of 2006, there was a snow storm. Obviously, an event like this happens all the time in Winter. Except for one thing. This happened in Australia, in the Southern Hemisphere, in Summer. Sometimes our egotism gets the best of us and in the end we are the fool.

He even expressed a desire to protect the Environmental Protection Agency's library system, which the Bush administration tried to eliminate.

So let's scale back on contracts that cost the taxpayer less than what we'd pay lazy public employees. The Department of Housing and Urban Development will have a larger role in government? Wow, big surprise from a Community Organizer. Let's see, isn't Cabrini-Green in Chicago? That's a good fix for the mortgage crisis, war-zone public housing solutions.

Wow, so we need more Social Security staff? Really? 62,000 people cannot get it done? 2.5 million people file disability claims and there is a backlog of 762k people waiting. Ok, 62k employees who work 200 days a year. With 12 people in backlog per employee, hmmm, seems to me that in two weeks (one extra claim per day per person) they should be able to clear it up. Think about this, according to the 2008 Social Security Trustees report, there are 50.4 million people receiving social security (9M of which are "disabled") That is 813 people per government employee. That means that for every person on social security, there is 20 minutes of worker time per year. Think about your parents (or grandparents) did they use their 20 minutes this year? So, we need more?

WOW! He WANTS TSA officers to be as unproductive as OTHER government employees? Normally the CEO would rather be closer to the worker than have a union in the way. I guess that is why he supporters workers losing their rights with Card Check.

The U.S. has always distinguished itself relative to its major trading partners by having a higher faith in free markets and a greater respect for the limits of big government. Sure, the U.S. passed a stimulus package now and then, but it also let failure run its course and refused to resort to excessive big-government intrusions into the private sector.

The risk is that we will forget this lesson. First we bailed out the financial companies; now President-elect Barack Obama is asking for $50 billion to bail out the auto companies, an effort backed by Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson. Next we will see a tax credit for people who buy General Motors Corp. cars at stores of bankrupt retailer Circuit City, provided they use the car to go to a Detroit Lions game.

A look at economic history suggests that the crazy policy intrusions have to stop. Failure can be a good thing, and recessions force economic stragglers to make tough decisions. Those tough decisions set the stage for the recovery.

Federal law provides a way out of the web: reorganization under Chapter 11 of the bankruptcy code. If GM were told that no assistance would be available without a bankruptcy filing, all options would be put on the table. The web could be cut wherever it needed to be. State protection for dealers would disappear. Labor contracts could be renegotiated. Pension plans could be terminated, with existing pensions turned over to the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp. (PBGC). Health benefits could be renegotiated. Mortgaged assets could be abandoned, so plants could be closed without being supported as idle hindrances on GM's viability. GM could be rebuilt as a company that had a chance to make vehicles people want and support itself on revenue. Obama's presidential campaign was an entrepreneurial enterprise whose success owed much to harnessing individual initiative through an innovative management structure and creatively using emerging technology. The campaign, as well as the candidate, helped inspire under-30 voters, who preferred Obama by an unprecedented 66 percent to 32 percent margin -- as opposed to his 50 percent to 49 percent margin in those 30 and over. But keeping the Detroit Three in their present form, with their extravagant health care benefits and the union's 5,000 pages of work rules, is an exercise in preserving in amber the America of the past.

The top priority for Obama is the economic downturn. We know his solution because he's been talking about it for two years. It's to revive the economy from the bottom up, cutting taxes for the middle class, sending checks to the poor, and paying for new spending by raising taxes on the well-off. That includes increasing the tax rate on capital gains and dividends.

Does anyone think this will work? It was tried by the president whom Obama seems to regard as his model, Franklin D. Roosevelt. Rather than jolt the country out of the Depression, FDR prolonged the economic slump right up to World War II. He advanced the interests of organized labor over those of business. Obama would do roughly the same through card check, a minimum wage increase, and protectionism.

The one and only, Mr. KOS, states the following in response to Tim Pawlenty's assessment of where the GOP currently is:

"Big question -- what can they do about it? Really, not much. The GOP is out of step with a public that is increasingly libertarian on social matters, yet their religious wing won't let them shift on those issues." KOS

I'll give you one data point to prove that Mr. KOS is full of it when he says the public is increasingly libertarian on social matters:

CA Prop 8 (Los Angeles County) Yes 50.3% No 49.7%

Think about it. Los Angeles County supported the ban on gay marriage. If Black and Hispanic Americans ever decide to put social issues above economic issues, the Dems are in big trouble. Obama was elected because he promised handouts, not because his social and moral beliefs are in line with the majority of America. The only one "out of step" is the Daily Kos. Once Obama's pyramid scheme crumbles, so will the Left's dominance over the minorities in this country.

The democrats are starting up the finger pointing machine, aimed at Bush.

They are now acting like Bush tricked them into the bailout legislation, by scaring them.

Yep, that means they want us all to believe the Obama bailout legislation was a big Bush trick.

Funny thing is, Candidate Obama fought for that bill!

And Candidate Obama had a big part in determining what the bill should be!

Can anyone remember that the democrats are the ones who started scaring us about the whole "Crisis" in the first place????!

Right before the November 2008 election as a matter of fact.

(Hmmmmmmm coincidence??? HA, HA HA! Right.)

But yeah, the democrats were the ones telling us we had to solve this problem in 2 days or we would all face a horrible fate.

Now, after the dust has settled, the Citizens of the USA are looking around and see 850 Billion in debt added onto their growing tab, and the stock market is plummeting.

This awareness by the people has triggered the democrat default response to anything they get caught doing wrong. They act Surprised!

Surprise, Surprise! See the democrats act surprised and start pointing those fingers! With the help of their minions in the press.

But that shouldn't be surprising to us. The democrats and their helpers never take credit for their mess. They always blame someone else.

In this latest mess, we can see the democrats want to avoid taking blame for two things :

1) Causing the financial crisis in the first place. Democrats brought us the faulty loan policy that caused the problems in the market in the first place. Policy that, after $850 Billion in "emergency" legislation, still hasn't been repealed.

History tells us the credit problem was caused by our government. Jimmy Carter signed the law that started it all. Left wing organizations, including ACORN forced these loans on banks with lawsuits. (By the way, President elect Obama donated $800,000 to Acorn this election, and Worked with Acorn and was a lawyer for Acorn.) The democrats, who were in charge of overseeing this policy, defended this loan policy even though it was pointed out over and over how dangerous the policy is. Here is a video of when the left defended the loan policy when it was questioned in 2004. Here is another video describing the evolution of the problem and mapping out how it was covered up and defended by the left .

2) The Bailout. Democrats hold the purse strings now. THEY wrote the Bailout legislation. THEY fought for it when it didn't get passed, THEY added bribes to it so it would pass, then THEY brought it to the floor again and THEY got it passed.

The bill is a democrat creation. We can all look honestly at this bill and know that there isn't one thing in that bill the democrats didn't want! Guaranteed! They had full control.

America is getting exactly what the democrats wanted. It isn't good. It isn't right. But this is how THEY run things.

The democrats wanted things this way!

This is all about taking power, prosperity, freedom and rights away from the people, and getting to their promised land. Socialism.

The democrats are doing what it takes!

And they are doing it!

The word is out, Obama is going to try to throw the book at Cheney and Bush. You know, it seems to me that Bush is doing everything he can to ensure that Obama takes over in an unfettered way. I am also pretty sure that he won't be taking off with the silverware.

Both of those "news items" were leaked and passed around by bloggers. Let's watch Maddow in action on another irrelevant "gotcha" moment of Sarah Palin:

The problem for Maddow is that the fruit fies in question are not the species normally used in medical research (Drosophila melanogaster). These fruit flies are olive fruit flies (Bactrocera oleae) and the only research associated with them is in the area of eradication. With all the Democrat interest in voter demographics derived from exit polls, it was more than interesting that Red County reported today that atheists, or "non-religious Americans" (to be politically correct), "came out in large numbers for Barack Obama on Election Day."

Red County's source for this data was Dr. Paul Kengor, Professor of Political Science and Executive Director of the Center for Vision and Values at Grove City College, Pennsylvania. Kengor estimated that "up to 11 million" atheists voted for Obama:

CNN exit polls found that 76 percent of those who answered “none” when asked about religious affiliation cast ballots for Obama. They comprised 12 percent of voters. That equates to an Obama grab of at least 11 million (generally) non-religious voters—a number notably larger than Obama’s overall popular-vote victory of roughly eight million. That’s a huge advantage for the Democratic nominee, one that gets more powerful every four years.

Let's be clear: one of the great strengths of the United States is freedom of religion. This includes the freedom to reject religion. When Americans respect each other's right to choose a faith or to be thoroughly secular, this fundamental right lives on. Also, like Kengor, "I'm not saying that if you voted for Barack Obama, you're an atheist." Obama captured a majority of the Catholic vote, more than three-fourths of the Jewish vote and even 45% of the Protestant vote.

What bakes my noodle is the continual brouhaha about evangelicals who vote Republican, on which topic Red County quoted Kengor:

It is quite telling that liberal journalists are constantly wringing their hands over the evangelical vote, but could care less about the rise of an atheist vote. Whereas evangelicals scare them to death -- and are highlighted as a dangerous force -- atheists are of no concern whatsoever.

We continue to hear about the Bush "theocracy" even as President Bush graciously fast-tracks a seamless transition to the Obama Administration. This is a demonstration of another great American strength -- stable transitions of power that prevent potential enemies from trying to take advantage of the situation. Compare, for example, Zimbabwe.

Kengor also pointed out that the level of commitment to a faith (which he could measure quantitatively only by frequency of church attendance, a metric which measures only physical, not mental or spiritual, presence at services) correlated with choice of Presidential candidate:

The contrast is clear when broken down among church attendance. Those who attend church services 'once a week' voted for McCain by 55 to 43 percent, while those who attend 'a few times a year' went for Obama 59 to 39 percent, and those who 'never' go to church voted Obama 67 to 30 percent.
The numbers are consistent among denominations: John McCain actually won Catholics who attend Mass weekly (50 to 49 percent), but was trounced by Catholics who don't attend weekly (58 to 40 percent). McCain's largest margin was white evangelical/born-again Christians, which he swept 74 to 24 percent. Yet, even then, that margin was not as wide as those with no religious affiliation who went for Obama.
What's most significant is that this is nothing new. It is a recent trend gravitating to an increasingly secular Democratic Party.

Equally significant, however, was Kengor's point that the margin of "no religious affiliation" voters for Obama was much larger than that of any group of voters of a particular religion. Non-and weakly-religious voters wielded a larger influence than voters who strongly identified with a particular faith.

"Change" and "Hope", therefore, resonated more with secular Americans. Here's how I make sense of it. The non-religious, who deny the spiritual, therefore look to the human race as the be-all and end-all. Some, like Ayn Rand, went further by elevating the human to the divine. This leads to the belief than humans can solve all the problems of the secular world. Entire systems have been built on this materialistic Weltanschauung. Indeed, some of the founders of the United States, such as Jefferson and Franklin, tended towards such a viewpoint, although they were Deists rather than atheists. Communism and Fascism were built on atheism; the former clearly replaces the spiritual with the materialistic.

So now the United States has elected Barack Obama, whom many view as a secular savior, as President. What kind of influence will the secular materialist wing of his constituency have? Will the mainstream media start keening about an Obama "atheocracy" if he heeds their calls for a more secular American society? I doubt it, somehow.

Republicans - Where do we go from here?

Needless to say, we got whipped, beaten and embarrassed in this election. Although, I still believe the argument can be made that no one we put up for president would have made a difference, in light of the historical nature of the election and the desire on the part of America to see that come true. But now we need to consider who we are or what we are, how we are different from the democrats and what are we going to stand for that will convince the populous of our noble intent.

Even so, we have an impediment to our future that will not easily be moved or circumvented. And that is the established amalgamation of the media and the democrat party. Through their combined force of influence - possible changed forever with the introduction of the Fairness Doctrine - on the people, it is difficult to express a plan that will get the attention deserve. However, the 1994 Contract with America was an exception and it worked. It worked because the policies delineated were of sound judgment and the commitment demonstrated by its signing was an authority the people could believe in. The American constituency looked at the assembled cast of the republicans and said “They are really going to do this”.

Its that time again. Time to stand on principle, dedication to our beliefs and allegiance to the Constitution. A new Contract for American must be drawn up and it must be implanted in the very psyche of all conservatives for the duration of our future. The question remains, who from the Republicans will define the strategy. I personally believe it is time for the conservative libertarian arm of the party to speak up and establish a bold choice for America. The neocons have had their say and we more or less suffer the consequences of their actions today. It is time to form up, sit down together, speak up and defend liberty, freedom and the constitution.

Health Care - NO UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE! Ask a Canadian ( I happen to live next to a nurse from Canada) or British Subject. Canadians comes to American for complex operations because they have to wait and die there. Britain sends patients to India with fully paid airfare because it is easier than processing them through the existing health organization. Not to mention you cannot find a dentist on the plan anywhere. American needs 6 things 1) Preventive based medical plans that spend the money up front for prevention than after someone has developed cancer. Incentivize HMOs to pay for yearly exams including MRIs and other full body scans. 2) Allow anyone to join combined plans that save money on the numbers of members, like small businesses teaming together. Administaff figured this out, why can’t the government. 3) Tort and medical malpractice reform. 4) Digital medical records alone would save billions and prevent mistakes while eliminating paperwork from the process. 5) Graduated premiums so people are incentivized to live healthier lives, and finally 6) get the government out of the way.

Defense - Number One, the constitution specifically says that Congress is the only power to declare war. How about we actually try that. No going to war anywhere unless the Congress signs a declaration. Certainly would cut down on the rhetoric. 2) The military has become a Joint Tactical Fighting Force, meaning all the services work together. Great! Then why do we need each service having copies of the same functions. Consolidate business activities like logistic, human resources and medical care under a single umbrella. Put the Air force back in with the Army ( sorry about that flyboys, nothing personal), and 3) continue the Stryker force realignment and Special Forces structure improvement. You can save at least a quarter of the defense budget just on efficiency alone without effects to the force capacity.

Taxes - A 10,000 page tax law was not envisioned by the founders. In fact, they suggested that taxes be reauthorized each year. Fair across the board burden to all is the best approach, but as long as the power to tax stays in the hand of the politicians it will continue to be manipulated. Just look at the upcoming chaos of the Obama plan. So its time for the Fair Tax plan or Nationwide Sales Tax to be the income generator of choice for the future of our government. Pick one and stick to it. No matter what its better than what we have now.

Job Growth - See TAXES above. Freedom from oppressive taxation and the efficiency inherent in the design will be the largest influence on job growth the likes America has not seem.

Economy - See TAXES above. Plus we need to ditch once and for all the Keyensian economic model and adopt Von Mises free market policies. A true and free capitalist market will be unencumbered to expand, compete, invent, effect change and provide the basis for all improvements in the life of Americans through increased income, opportunity, education and way of life. If you don’t know who Ludwig Von Mises is, look it up. A free market also is self correcting, preventing the disastrous outcome of our current situation from the overzealous activities of a manipulative government.

Education - Eliminate the Department of Education and send the money back to the states. Let them spend the money on students, instead of philosophers and doctoral elitists you espouse psychobabble from the communist doctrine. What a novel idea.

Fidelity to the Constitution - Oh how the democrats are wrong. We need to be Constitutionalist! We need a stricter adherence to the intent of our founders. Prime example; when the American government was considering a $15,000 payment, John Adams said show me where in the articles of the constitution it says we can pay for that. The constitution lives because it can be changed and once changed, we live with that agreement. So in that sense it is a living document, but ONLY when it has been changed. So to say that the understanding of the constitution is old and out of date is an affront to the brilliant minds of out founders. They gave us the power to adapt to our new world, we just chose to not follow the rule.

We as conservatives have ideas founded in common sense and historical experience. We need to move like the force of an axe head and sunder the socialist ideals of the progressives. We need to wedge our way into the mindset of American and effect change through commitment, determination, and adherence to our new mandate. If we advocate and execute our objectives, not consort or conspire with the opposition just so the press with give us a “fair shake”, then we have the opportunity to reignite the fire that drove the Contract with American to success.

The Bailout Just Keeps Getting Worse and Barney Loves It!

So. Quite the day for bailout revelations.

First, we learn that nestled into the Pelosi/Reed bailout was a secret $140 billion in tax breaks for the banks. Amazing that Barack Obama voted to cut taxes on those evil greedy predatory lending banks.

The financial world was fixated on Capitol Hill as Congress battled over the Bush administration's request for a $700 billion bailout of the banking industry. In the midst of this late-September drama, the Treasury Department issued a five-sentence notice that attracted almost no public attention.
But corporate tax lawyers quickly realized the enormous implications of the document: Administration officials had just given American banks a windfall of as much as $140 billion.

Then we learn that the tax break isn't the only secret the feds are keeping. Apparently, it's now none of our business which banks actually laid their hands on the stash:

Nov. 10 (Bloomberg) -- The Federal Reserve is refusing to identify the recipients of almost $2 trillion of emergency loans from American taxpayers or the troubled assets the central bank is accepting as collateral.

And Barney Frank is just fine with that:

In an interview Nov. 6, House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank said the Fed's disclosure is sufficient and that the risk the central bank is taking on is appropriate in the current economic climate. Frank said he has discussed the program with Timothy F. Geithner, president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and a possible candidate to succeed Paulson as Treasury secretary.
``I talk to Geithner and he was pretty sure that they're OK,'' said Frank, a Massachusetts democrat. ``If the risk is that the Fed takes a little bit of a haircut, well that's regrettable.'' Such losses would be acceptable, he said, if the program helps revive the economy.

As to if the conversation occured in the bedroom or the boardroom still remains to be determined. Of course, there was other more open news ... like that AIG got its umpteenth cash infusion, bringing its total thus far to $150 billion.

So, this is what we get from the Democrats being in control. Make no mistake, they will paint it as the Bush bailout, the McCain bailout. Remember, Joe Biden and Obama voted yes. 172 house democrats voted yes (73% of them.) 39 Democratic Senators voted yes (81% of them.) Make no mistake, this was the Democrats running to try to hide their enormous Social Financial Engineering failures. Keep in mind, Income Distribution and Fairness are code words for more social financial engineering.

Real Conservatives would NEVER approve of ANY of these bailouts.

Daily Mourning: Closing Gitmo

“That One” has not even been sworn in yet and already the terrifying mistakes are starting to pile up. The Obama team is chomping at the bit and frothing at the mouth to overturn and remove any number of Bush strategies whose obvious goal has been to keep America safe. It seems that first and foremost at the top of the idiot-elects list of “let’s change everything Bush” is to close down the Guantanamo Bay detention center. The brilliant conclusion reached by the Obama group is to: release a portion of the detainees straight out; to move a second group into the US courts for trial; and the third group to go before a brand new court yet to be created. Just how unbelievably naïve and ignorant can the Obama plan and the Obama team be?

These detainees have been imprisoned at Gitmo for a reason. These aren’t nice people. These aren’t individuals who were caught jay walking across the streets of Baghdad. These are vicious and hate filled individuals who are bent on killing Americans. And Obama-idiot is planning on just releasing a large portion of them back out into the world. Care to make a wager about how many of those “innocents” that the O-Administration releases that make their way back into the war and end up killing some of our brave soldiers. If this happens just once after Gitmo is closed I see this as tantamount to treason on the part of Obama himself.

I am sure I am like so many others who just cannot wait (insert dripping sarcasm) to see our domestic court systems flooded with former Gitmo detainees; each one with an ACLU scumbag lawyer at their side; and each one spending my tax dollars and wasting countless hours in front of domestic judges and jurors. Can’t you just wait to see the detainees standing in front of judges happily giving diatribe after diatribe about how evil America is and how mistreated and tortured and offended each one of them was while they were in Gitmo. I can guarantee that each time one of these detainees has his moment in court the LMSM media will be there en force with cameras rolling and the lib reporters gleefully reporting about how terrible America must be just look at what the detainee is saying. It will be a nightmare. This I can guarantee.

Oh and on the issue of the libs wanting to create a special court to deal with the detainees that they actually believe pose a serious threat. As far as I am concerned that court already exists. It’s called a military tribunal. But oh wait – they have been fighting the use of that court for how long now? But I guess since the big O took over creating special courts is now OK? The hypocrisy of this upcoming administration is already unbelievable.

Seems that the folks over at the KOS are already becoming disillusioned with the bailout plan. Somehow they'll blame Bush instead of the plan's biggest advocates, Pelosi and Reid. Don't look for much change from the Obama administration when it comes to corporate welfare. I've pasted an article straight from The Examiner which reveals that Obama's new Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, is in about as deep as you can get with those evil and greedy wall-street big-shots. Again, this is not the "Hope" and "Change" Obama's radical friends were looking for. Can you say, "Green Party"?

Sixteen years ago, when Bill Clinton was moving into the White House, good-government liberals were disheartened that the President-elect named his campaign’s top fundraiser, Rahm Emanuel, as White House political director. They
read this as a sign that cash would be king in the Clinton Administration. They
were right.

Four elections later, after getting rich in a brief stint in finance, Emanuel is the favorite congressman of Wall Street, measuring by campaign contributions. In the midst of a financial crisis that President-elect Barack Obama blames on Wall Street’s greed and excessive influence in Washington, Emanuel is once again headed to a perch of power in a Democratic White House, this time as chief of staff.

Obama hasn’t been in Washington for very long, and much of his tenure in the U.S. Senate has been spent barnstorming in Iowa, Colorado, and Indiana. In response to concerns that Obama lacks experience and doesn’t know his way around Washington, the Democrat’s supporters argued that he would surround himself with smart, knowledgeable people who know how the town works.

Emanuel certainly has been around the block.

Aside from his time in the trenches of Democratic machine politics in Cook County,
Illinois, where he was Mayor Richard Daley’s money man, Emanuel also served as a
fundraiser and operative in the Clinton administration. Neither of these items
on his résumé quite smells like clean government.

Considering Obama’s promises to stand up for Main Street and take on Wall Street, Emanuel’s deep ties with Wall Street are noteworthy. Emanuel was a chief advocate of the $700 billion Wall Street bailout this fall, toiling to pass it through the House
after it was first rejected.

Just as Emanuel has helped Wall Street, Wall Street has helped Emanuel. This past election cycle, more than a third of Emanuel’s campaign contributions from political action committees came from financial sector PACs.

His top source of campaign funds this year was the subprime-rattled UBS (the Swiss bank’s PAC and employees gave, corporations cannot give campaign contributions), who benefited from the housing bailout which Emanuel supported and has already shown an interest in expanding.

Hedge funds and private equity firms are also close with Emanuel. Over his career,
Emanuel’s best source of funds has been the private equity firm Madison Dearborn
Partners. Hedge funds, facing a new slew of regulations, handouts, and rules,
dramatically increased their contributions this year, and Emanuel was also their
favorite House member.

The $96,900 Emanuel pulled in from hedge funds places him above any Senator besides presidential candidates. In fact, Emanuel garnered from hedge funds more than the top 11 Republican lawmakers, combined.

Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan are also in Emanuel’s top-five career sources of campaign cash. As reported by the Center for Responsive Politics, Emanuel received more money from the securities and investment industry—$600,500 as of September 30—than did any other member of the U.S. House, and more than two presidential candidates (including Joe Biden) and the chairman of the Senate Finance
Committee.

Commercial banks lined Emanuel’s pockets, too, with $121,100, placing him fourth among House members.

Remember, too, that all of these industries that have favored Obama’s next chief of staff so well also gave more to Obama than to McCain. And while Obama studiously rejected lobbyist contributions to his campaign, Emanuel had no such scruples.

In money from lobbyists, Emanuel was in the top 10% of House members, which is made more interesting by the fact he didn’t face a competitive reelection at all in his
solidly Democratic House district.

What does it portend for an Obama administration that his closest advisor would be someone so steeped in fundraising and so close to Wall Street?

Back in 1993, Fred Wertheimer lamented fundraiser Emanuel’s top spot in the Clinton White House, calling it “a very dangerous appointment for the Clinton administration because it places in the White House an individual whose principal responsibility has been to raise huge sums of money from special interests seeking influence over government decisions.”

Indeed, Emanuel had been crucial in steering Wall Street money into Clinton’s campaign. His record suggests he will the financial industry’s man inside the Obama White House. At a time when the Washington-Wall Street relationship is changing rapidly, will Emanuel be the man to guarantee it’s change the Wall Street firms need?

Liberal Wishful Thinking

I am not going to argue that we are a Center-Right country. I will not argue that McCain was not Conservative enough. I will argue that Republicans have lost their way. The current thinking coming from the Left is that Conservatism is dead, the Electoral college landslide gives a huge mandate, majorities in the Senate and the House, and some idea that a permenant Democrat majority is on the way. Make no mistake, we got whooped. We can all argue and disagree about why, but we got it handed to us.

Having said that, it is a crazy notion that Republicans are simply going to go away, dwindle in numbers and disappear. (By the way, the Kos article said that the Kos was in the center, ha!) This idea that the Republican party is now only a regional party is also insane. The dems learned how to run a campaign. We sent in a California Raisin instead of a leader. We made the mistake to think we could appeal to lefties. No worries, America is a still a Republic, we still get to vote. (We will see what happens when they try to silence dissent.) Obama cannot even get through his first press conference without insulting a National Icon and beloved first lady, who by the way is like 900 years old. Way to go. Obama should have just went out and pulled a walker out from underneath a 97 year old woman crossing the street, and then went ahead and tripped her, with a little push just to make sure she breaks her hip on the way down. Make no mistake, it is all Obama all the time, and there will be ways to make fun of him (even if comics want to claim that he is "too perfect," 57 states anyone?)

Back to the main point, there is one thing that the left wants to ignore.

The Race War is Over!

A funny thing happened on the way to the election this year, the race war ended. Yes, that is a bold statement, but one I believe is supported by the outcome of this election and certainly from the exit polls. Don’t get me wrong though, any time a war comes to an end there are still skirmishes and arguments that persist for some time. There are also those instigators that work feverishly to promote a continued state of war because they profit from the racist and bigoted confrontation. But in the end, the election showed us a sea change in American race relations. Where we can argue on policy ( and oh how we will over the next 4 years) without arguing about a person’s race, or gender for that matter. How? Lets look at the polls.

Well besides the obviousness of the election and the interracial celebration in force throughout most major cities in the US, the exit polls tell an interesting story. Most notably, Obama won by roughly 8,000,000 votes. Votes that at first glance seem to come from the over abundance of minority votes cast for Obama. But when we look deeper, we see where the minority vote was not enough to allow an Obama victory. Something, or more to the point, someone had to be the deciding factor.

So looking at the polls, lets start with race. It goes without saying that minorities voted for Obama and voted based on race. But is that a bad thing. Not really in this case, since it was more than expected to happen. Plus, this vote was more on the lines of a parent voting for their child in a competition they have never won. Their vote was based on pride versus a derogatory, demeaning and revenge based attack against the other competitor. You can’t fault people for supporting in essence, themselves. But other questions in the exit polls reflect a darker side that luckily is fading with age.

For the roughly 7,000,000 in positive minority votes, 3,000,000 of that was counter-acted to some extent by racism. So how can the race war be over if racism played a part in the election? Because it didn’t. When you look at the exit polls by age group, you see that two things happened. One, votes across most age groups impacted Obama, especially among the middle aged. But among the elderly, we find our source for the sharp drop in votes that countered the significant minority presence. The Elderly flat out did not vote. They just did not show up. So much so you can’t statistically account for it with death. But not showing up does not mean they came to support McCain. They did not. The elderly are more prone to historically derogatory feelings and as such, just did not take an interest in this election for what ever personal reason they had. The good news in this is that racism is dying out, literally.

So how did Obama win? He convinced well-educated, upper middle class and rich white folks that he was the candidate that could do the most good for the country and they cast their ballots (particularly among the rich) in record numbers. A full 7,000,000 ( an almost 100% increase in votes from 2004) rich voters over $100K bolted to the ballot boxes eager to cast votes irregardless of race. In fact overall, more white people voted for Obama than at any other time. Yes, minorities voted for their own and deservedly so, but Obama won because race didn’t prevent the breadth of our electorate from considering policy in their decisions. For those that did, well, give it ten years and they won’t be here to matter.
In the end, our kids will enjoy the good that did come out of this election (policy debates will be reserved for another time) but only if we promote and educate them about the historical and socially significant meaning behind it. In essence, its up to us now. To push the instigators of hate to the fringe and allow the racial blindness of childhood innocent to persist beyond 3rd grade.

N-Word Hurled at Blacks During Westwood Prop 8 Protest

This from Rod 2.0, a blog by Rod McCullom, who has worked in the past as a network news producer at ABC, NBC and Fox News. He is currently the political columnist for The Advocate, as well as regular contributor to Advocate.com, Out.com, The Huffington Post and gay Fleshbot.

McCullom wrote about how "the recent passage of California's Proposition 8 has exposed some of the latent racism of many within the LGBT community". He refers to "the 'blame the blacks' meme", which has emerged both online and on the streets of California. He described how blacks unexpectedly found themselves targeted by whites at Friday's marriage equality rally in Los Angeles:

twice.

Someone else said same thing to me on the next block near the temple...me and my friend were walking, he is also gay but Korean, and a young WeHo clone said after last night the [n--s] betternot come to West Hollywood if they knew what was BEST for them.
Los Angeles resident and Rod 2.0 reader A. Ronald says he and his boyfriend, who are both black, were carrying NO ON PROP 8 signs and still subjected to racial abuse.
Three older men accosted my friend and shouted, "Black people did this, I hope you people are happy!" A young lesbian couple with mohawks and Obama buttons joined the shouting and said there were
"very disappointed with black people" and "how could we" after the Obama victory. This was stupid for them to single us out because we were carrying those blue NO ON PROP 8 signs! I pointed that out and the one of the older men said it didn't matter because "most black people hated gays" and he was "wrong" to think we had compassion. That was the most insulting thing I had ever heard. I guess he never thought we were gay.

Election ‘08: OMG The Gays Are Trying To Get Gangsta With It

Jasmine Cannick noted that the verbal attacks by white gays on blacks were "[l]ike when Hillary lost the nomination and Black America got a taste of how their party mates really felt about them (thank you Harriet Christian and P.U.M.A.) . . . . "

Some bloggers tried to redirect the rage at "more appropriate" targets:

Cannick: "If gays want to blame someone for Proposition 8, they can start with their leaders—also known as the gay mafia, whose egos, white superiority complex, and misunderstanding of Black people’s priorities for this election season guaranteed certain outcomes."

McCullom:

There is more than enough blame to go around—the homophobia of the black church, lack of outreach by mainstream LGBT organizations, reluctance by the Obama campaign, many blacks gays and lesbians in the closet, deep pockets of the social conservatives, take your pick—but it is a statistical fact that millions more whites voted for this initiative than blacks. You want to blame somebody, go to overwhelming white Orange County, Bakersfield or San Fernando Valley and blame them. Or better yet, head up to San Francisco and blame the 50 percent of voters who didn't even bother to vote.

But I'm wondering why these folks are so caught up in the black voters, who obviously can't ever be persuaded on this issue because... well, because. There are so many other groups in the exit polling that voted for Prop 8 overwhelmingly (as in, more than 60%):

* The elderly (65+)

* Republicans

* Conservatives

* People who decided for whom to vote in October (but not within the week before the election)

* People who were contacted by the McCain campaign

* Protestants

* Catholics

* White Protestants

* Those who attend church weekly

* Married people

* People with children under 18

* Gun owners

* Bush voters

* Offshore drilling supporters

* People who are afraid of a terrorist attack

* People who thought their family finances were better now than 4 years ago

* Supporters of the war against Iraq

* People who didn't care about the age of the candidates

* Anti-choicers

* People who are from the "Inland/Valley" region of California

* McCain voters

Some of these groups supported Prop 8 far more than African Americans did, which makes me wonder why we're focused so much on race instead of any of these factors. In terms of predictive value, religion, political ideology, and being married with children tell us much more about how someone voted on Prop 8 than race does.

From which we can infer three things. First, breaking the statistics just along racial lines is an overly simplistic way to look at the results. Black people, like white people, are not a monolithic group, and LGBT people can make inroads by reaching out to African Americans if we try. Flapping our mouths about how we're not PC, how all blacks are homophobic, and how there's no use in reaching out to African Americans doesn't endear people to us, and there is work to be done here that hasn't been done.

Second, religion is the overwhelming factor in Prop 8's win, in terms of organizing, funding, and voting. Since it's not going anywhere, we have to take a more serious approach to religious voters. And, yes, their leaders make bank off homophobia, but we're going to have to be more creative. No writing off fundies as idiots allowed - they get votes too.

There have been no reports of riots by McCain and third-party candidate voters (a group that includes "fundies", Protestants, Catholics, conservatives, Republicans, pro-lifers [not "anti-choicers"], "hicks" who don't live on the coast, the elderly, married heterosexuals with/without children, etc.) because Senator Barack Obama was elected President of the United States. Yet, the favorite liberal smear has been that anyone in this "monolithic group" who did not vote for Obama is a "racist". Kinda makes you wonder.

"Transition advisers to President-elect Barack Obama have compiled a list of about 200 Bush administration actions and executive orders that could be swiftly undone to reverse White House policies on climate change, stem cell research, reproductive rights and other issues, according to congressional Democrats, campaign aides and experts working with the transition team."

The worst of these executive orders to be reversed will be:

"The new president is also expected to lift a so-called global gag rule barring international family planning groups that receive U.S. aid from counseling women about the availability of abortion, even in countries where the procedure is legal, said Cecile Richards, the president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. When Bill Clinton took office in 1993, he rescinded the Reagan-era regulation, known as the Mexico City Policy, but Bush reimposed it."

So killing millions of black babies here in the U.S. isn't enough for Obama and his population-controlling Marxists. Now they want to spread the murdering to the uttermost parts of the world.

On Tuesday, Americans stood in lines that stretched around schools and churches in numbers this nation has never seen. It didn’t matter who they were or where they came from; what they looked like or what party they belonged to – they came out and cast their ballot because they believed that in this country, our destiny is not written for us, but by us. We should all take pride in the fact that we once again displayed for the world the power of our democracy, and reaffirmed the great American ideal that this is a nation where anything is possible.

Thank you ABC, CBS, CNN, NY Times for making sure you investigated Sarah Palin more than me so that the American people didn't know who they were voting for. Also, a shout out to my boy Jeremiah and Billy (I'll see you guys tonight.) Oh right, also, a big thank you to Hamas and those silly Palestinians who think that I'll help them, for all those illegal internet donations. And lastly, thank you to Mastercard and Visa for allowing me to disable any sense of security so I'd have plausible deniability.

This week, I spoke with President Bush, who graciously offered his full support and assistance in this period of transition. Michelle and I look forward to meeting with him and the First Lady on Monday to begin that process. This speaks to a fundamental recognition that here in America we can compete vigorously in elections and challenge each other’s ideas, yet come together in service of a common purpose once the voting is done. And that is particularly important at a moment when we face the most serious challenges of our lifetime.

Wow, no protests, no crazy legal challenges? Amazing, no killing and bloodshed? Oh that's right, that would only have been if John McCain one. Wow, these Conservatives are pretty peaceful and respectful of our Democratic process.

Yesterday, we woke to more sobering news about the state of our economy. The 240,000 jobs lost in October marks the 10th consecutive month that our economy has shed jobs. In total, we’ve lost nearly 1.2 million jobs this year, and more than 10 million Americans are now unemployed. Tens of millions of families are struggling to figure out how to pay the bills and stay in their homes. Their stories are an urgent reminder that we are facing the greatest economic challenge of our lifetime, and we must act swiftly to resolve them.

Nice! Keep it up economy. As long as people are desperate they'll look for the government to save them. It is too bad though that some people are going to have to go without fake nails and cell phones though.

In the wake of these disturbing reports, I met with members of my Transition Economic Advisory Board, who will help guide the work of my transition team in developing a strong set of policies to respond to this crisis. While we must recognize that we only have one President at a time and that President Bush is the leader of our government, I want to ensure that we hit the ground running on January 20th because we don’t have a moment to lose.

I promise Hope and Change and I haven't got a clue what to do. I'm going to go ahead and use the oldest trick in the Washington playbook and put together a commission. I just won't call it that. Maybe they can figure it out? Oh yeah, and I'll make sure there is a lot of representation of big business, even though I villified them during the election, well, except my man Warren B.

We discussed several of the most immediate challenges facing our economy and key priorities on which to focus in the days and weeks ahead to ease the credit crisis, help hardworking families, and restore growth and prosperity.

Good thing we engineered this economic crisis. Phew. I hope it doesn't get too bad?

First, we need a rescue plan for the middle class that invests in immediate efforts to create jobs and provides relief to families that are watching their paychecks shrink and their life savings disappear.

We need to send everyone a check, especially if they didn't pay taxes. You know, so that overpaid union workers can make garbage cars to be sold at zero percent financing. Then we'll make sure that you can declare bankruptcy and keep your car, that way, you never have to actually pay for it, well unless you make more than $250k a year, then you'll pay double. We'll pay for the check by making anybody who makes over $250k a year send us a check, nah, forget that, we'll just seize their 401k's.

Then, we’ll address the spreading impact of the financial crisis on other sectors of our economy, and ensure that the rescue plan that passed Congress is working to stabilize financial markets while protecting taxpayers, helping homeowners, and not unduly rewarding the management of financial firms that are receiving government assistance.

Comrades, we will take over control of more companies. The Central Planning office will be opening very soon. You know, maybe we can pass a law requiring that CEO's only make 3X the lowest paid worker, but we'll make sure there is an exemption for Hollywood stars and Oprah, because you know, somebody has to get me re-elected.

Finally, we will move forward with a set of policies that will grow our middle-class and strengthen our economy in the long-term. We can’t afford to wait on moving forward on the key priorities that I identified during the campaign, including clean energy, health care, education and tax relief for middle class families.

We will give poor people welfare and then with their lousy job, free health care and free college they'll magically get new jobs that pay better, working for the Central Planning Goverment Office!

Let me close by saying I do not underestimate the enormity of the task that lies ahead. We’ve taken some major actions to date, and we will need further actions during this transition and subsequent months. Some of those choices will be difficult, but America is a strong and resilient country. I know that we will succeed if we put aside partisanship and work together as one nation. And that is what I intend to do.

My friends, America's economy is fundamentally sound. Oops, wait, Nancy Reagan talks to ghosts, she got so scared by one the other day, she broke her hip. Ha Ha Ha, aren't I funny?

Reports are that Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is reaching out to Joe Lieberman about the possibility of Lieberman caucusing with the GOP. This is in response to the upcoming humiliation that Harry Reid has proposed doing to Lieberman. I say come on over Joe! While conservatives don't agree with Joe on 95% of the issues, the 5% we do agree with him on are of great importance. Whether it be Homeland Security, the War in Iraq, or the Nation of Israel, Joe Lieberman would be an excellent advocate for the Conservative position on those issues.

This entire situation with Lieberman reveals the truth behind the Dems and their false claim of wanting bipartisanship. If Harry Reid and the rest can't work with Joe Lieberman then how in the world will they ever cross all the way over the aisle to reach out to a true conservative. Some are even saying that Obama will have to step in and save Lieberman. It appears that if Joe wants to keep his chairmanship position, he'll have to bow down to the messiah and ask for forgiveness. These folks are demented.

Now some Senate insiders are speculating that Obama could save Lieberman's job by issuing a statement saying he "forgives Joe" and that everyone needs to work together for the good of the country. (CBS News)

Right now the republican establishment is teaming up with a biased media, leaking bogus info on Governor Sarah Palin, and attacking Sarah Palin after the election. This proves that the republican establishment wants to blame someone else for their complete and total failure.

Sarah Palin gave John McCain a chance to win. Over and over we heard that People were not going to vote, they were going to sit out the election, until Sarah Palin came into the picture. Anyone paying attention this election realized that People were voting for Sarah Palin. They were voting for the promise of Sarah Palin in the future! They were voting for Sarah Palin, or against Barack Obama. In large majority they were not voting for John McCain.

McCain would have lost by far more votes if Sarah Palin wasn't part of the ticket. There would have been far less republicans voting if Sarah Palin wasn't part of the ticket!

I heard on the radio this morning that republican voting was down this election. It would have been far worse if Sarah Palin wasn't in the picture!

Solid proof that this was a guaranteed loser ticket is that McCain could have taken advantage of a whole bunch of opportunities to get the upper hand and win, but he didn't. Add to that McCain's staff blaming Sarah Palin for McCain's failings, while McCain says nothing.

McCain is not defending Sarah Palin at all! All we hear is crickets. McCain is allowing this ruse by his staff and others to continue, uninterrupted.

This silent approval of these attacks on Sarah Palin, by McCain, is proving to us that in this race McCain was more of a place holder for the leftist agenda, than a candidate determined to win for republicans this election or in the long run!!

Barack Obama had a huge amount of biased media, world wide propaganda, a ton more money ....etc.. and Obama could never pull too far away in the polls from John McCain.

With all that extra advantage Obama had, you would have expected Obama to be 78% in the polls! Or more! But no. He barely went over 50%, and usually stayed under. I think that shows there was a clear weakness of the Obama ticket that was never exploited by John McCain.

Obama's message that he wanted the People to get, got out with that mountain of help. The result was not a mountain of approval. Obama even had a TV show and never pulled away from McCain in any big amount! This makes me believe that McCain could have won if he actually tried. I believe this means that McCain could have won if he portrayed Sarah Palin in the light she deserved. McCain could have won if he used the conservative message he claimed to have. McCain could have won if he raised conservative solutions. McCain could have won if he used the tools available to him through the whole election.

But he chose to do none of this.

In four, maybe eight years if Obama manages to charm people enough, Sarah Palin will have many more years of governance under her already formidable belt. People with common sense know that the liberal views of the new administration and the heavily liberal congress will not stay in good standing for long, it never does. So they're already preparing, as they should, for what comes next. Will Sarah Palin run in 2012, 2016? In a quote from their own hit piece: "And in 2015 (if not sooner), I'd predict, we'll see a new Sarah Palin criss-crossing the early primary states, with a few more lines in her face and perhaps a Bonnie Raitt streak of grey in her hair at the age of 51 -- a reformer with results from the Last Frontier -- and we will need to take her very, very seriously." Yes you will. She WILL be coming at you as a reformer with results and it will be the end of your fake Camelot re-hash. We can only hope that it happens sooner rather than later. 2012 is not that far away, and Sarah will be ready to pounce if the opportunity is there.

It's time for Ford and GM to say goodbye to Detroit and head south. The American Taxpayer can not subsidize the wages of union workers just in order to keep these two companies afloat. Take a look a the below aerial photo. It is a brand new KIA plant located in West Point, Georgia. How come foreign auto-makers can suceed at manufacturing automobiles inside the U.S. but Ford and GM can't? Ummmm......unions?
